What's up - no gas at local Esso

confuse Just got in and as I drove by the local Esso station he's all pylon'd off with 0.00 on the price tower. Did I miss some news, are we in for a shortage ? Intersting that in today's news there was a story about huge consumption decreases over July and August, now this. Perhaps it is just isolated. Dan McTeague's web site is suggesting a slight decrease tomorrow. Oil Companies Ugh! confuse

And we are powerless to do a thing about it. Sad, they know we are hopelessly addicted.

Strange. Gas has been 91 cents a liter here for a while now.

Can't make outrageously excessive profit at 91, just excessive? Perhaps they're throwing in the towel for now in the hope it will reach 1.40 again.

I gassed up at the CrappyTire GasBar here in Peterboro' last night for 86.4..
It's been hovering around that here for the last few weeks w/ the occasional guy trying to snag morning people at 90 plus prices.

I talked to another guy from Venezuala last week..
Same story as other guys from there I've spoken w/ before as gas there is like 5 cents a litre!!!
Sound like a great place for a retirement musclecar garage or what?!

But who would want to live under a tinpot dictator like Hugo Chavez?

Don't kid yourself, those low gas prices are just there as a sop to the population to try and prevent huge civil unrest.  Venezuela just happens to have gas so they give it away to try and prevent rioting by the population for all the other shortcomings in their society.  Have you checked the price of food there?  Or all the other goods we take for granted in our society?  You also don't want to be "rich" in Venezuela and believe me, anyone who could afford to have classic muscle cars would be considered to be "rich".

Just had to be bad planning on the stations part.
News reported tonight that American stockpiles of crude are 9% above historical levels. And world price of crude fell today.
Regular is going for 89.7 in the Wasaga Beach area.

We're still paying a buck too.

Wish the crude price would go up so a relative of mine could go back to work...
