Nice to know I'm not the only one that is like that Ray. When I do an invoice for a customer, I change the purchase price before taxes if the original invoice comes out to that number after taxes.

It gets pretty tough some times when I am working with part numbers. They can contain the triple digits in a row like that.

I would never accept a license plate with it on there.

Sorry if that seems silly to any of you but it's the way I am.

I am the same way.  The first thing I noticed about the car was the plate, that is why I pointed it out.  I am not overly religious but I too will do anything to avoid the number of the beast, I don't even like looking at the odometer every time those numbers roll by.

Yes, Carl, I think I got a real deal on the car. However, the actual out-of-pocket price will be around $2,200 (plus tax, licence, etc.) after I apply my accumulated point value from this Citibank Canada card.

I get 2% on any and all purchases with this card. It helped buy my new Tahoe. It fully paid for my used Silverado. $0.

Now, the card will pay almost half of the price of this car. Apparently there is now an annual fee of $59 for new cardholders, but I was an early user so I pay no fee of any kind.

Pretty good deal. 2% on all purchases. Redeemable on any car or light truck purchase....new or used....dealer or private. Just pay the outstanding balance in full every month and it's free. I do, and it is. wink

A nice Bonneville for around $2,200.

I'm still looking. I've got a big shop to fill.

Yes, I do. One example: I paid for all building materials for my new shop on the card, after negotiating a nice contractor's discount. I also collected AeroPlan points on most of the shop purchases through Home Hardware. Gotta work the angles. wink

It FULLY paid for your Silverado, and it helped pay for your new Tahoe as well?  Holy Smokes Bob, how much have you put through on that card in the last few years?jawdrop.gif

I don't think I have put through a total of $100,000 on all my credit cards put together in the last decade.biggrin  But then again, I haven't paid a lot of tax on things either.wink

Oh and BTW, good luck with devil.gif Bonneville devilish.gif

Thanks, Hillar. Everything will be just fine. I may transfer this plate to the Bonneville for the winter as a cleansing of sorts. wink

Right now, I'm searching for a car wash that is willing to dispense Holy Water prior to the trip home.

During discussions about picking up the car, I just learned that those plates don't belong to the car. He was just disguising his identity.

They'll be gone when I pick it up. I'm taking Bishop Lahey along to bless the car. wink

One only needs to be marked once with the sign of the beast.  I would not even have that number associated with anything I had, however temporary that may be.  Have the car exorcised before you even put it on the car carrier Bob.

My wife likes newer cars. When I showed her the photos, she said, "Geesh, what a beast".

I think we've found a nickname for the car.

My next door neighbors had a 75 GrandeVille convert. in 75. It was pea soup green with white interior. Awesome looking car and made my 73 Parisienne look cheap.

I'm picking the car up on the weekend. If you never hear from me again after that, you'll know the exorcism didn't work. I'll be posting a photo thread for those interested. I'll provide sufficient warning for those with concerns.

Every day since the auction ended, the Canadian dollar is getting stronger. Because he priced the car in U.S. dollars, the price keeps dropping. Soon, it'll be free. wink

You do know that St.Mary's is close to HWY 19 that goes down to Thamesford, then jogs over to Ingersoll before you hit the 401......hint....

Since the Bonneville and Bonneville Brougham are included in the GM of Canada brochure, and were therefore sold through Canadian Pontiac dealers, do I now own a Canadian Pontiac?

biggrin
