I can understand the seller's frustration with low ball offers but it seems over the top to crush is for the sake of $500 bucks difference. This car looks decent. It would be a shame to lose it to the crusher. Hope someone buys it.

Even though its a F##d, its a shame to see something crushed. I understand the frustration that goes with selling an old car, I went thru it with my 60 Biscayne...But, finally got a guy that I could deal with, and bartered a little and he now owns it.

like they say "too many freaks-not enough circuses".It's too bad, looks to be a way too decent car to be crushed.Don't understand the mentality. Some money is better than 0 money, you would think in this economy anyways.no

The guy's a moron.  Anyone who would throw away $3500 and take nothing instead is an idiot.  The guy needs a reality check, the market is always right.  If the best offer he's getting is $3,500, that's all it's worth.  Oh, maybe I missed that 58 Fairlane that went across the blocks at B-J at $35,000....

Well, to his credit, he's certainly got people talking about a car that nobody seems to care much about.

I sent him an email asking about the donuts and coffee. He said he was also serving whiskey and asked if I wanted to watch the crushing...

I think this guy must be a jerk. The market is poor because of the economy. He lost interest at the wrong time. that cost him some dollars but get what you can.The fordor 58 is not particulaly a car most desirable to restore. I wouldn't give him more than $1000. The restoration 29 years ago is gone. This car needs a total restoration again. He should have taken better care of it so it would be worth what he wants. Fool, take the $3500 and make $2500 more than its worth. Rather than crush the car do the world a favor and put your attitude under the crusher.
