PATINA! Not often you find a Bel Air in this condition. Lots of rare options including the vacuum ashtray! Sure the engine/trans isn't original but who cares?

it looks pretty good.  I used to be a 57 authority, but have forgotten a bunch of stuff.  It's a US car, and tough to tell if it is "Canyon Coral" or "Dusk Pearl", and I don't have my 57 info handy.  I had a 57 210 2 dr post for many years, Dusk Pearl and Imperial Ivory.  While I wouldn't have chosen that color combo, it was very unique and looked sharp.   The one in the listing has potential - and yes, they did make 2 dr sedan Bel Air's.

Wow, yes, not often you find one like that any more. Those days are gone.

Almost the same condition my wagon was in. Loved it the way it was some times I regret doing all the work to it I did. A car like that you can just drive and you don't have to worry about the little things like dust and scratches.

Todd, that car reminds me of the way they looked back when I was a kid. I thought they were so cool with an aftermarket stick, especially a 4 speed. I agree about the patina. Now if I could find a Pontiac that looked like that........

VIN indicates it's an original 6 cylinder car (but maybe not as rad is on engine side of rad support, and has the V's on the hood and trunk), and has some custom touches such as the chromed heater housing.  Baltimore MD assembly plant.  794 paint code is Imperial Ivory (roof) and can't tell the body color.  In some of the photo's it looks like 821 "Dusk Pearl", but in other photo's looks like 801 "Canyon Coral".

I always used those continental kits for better weight transfer to the rear tires, especially if you filled the tire with concrete.

I'd asked the seller what the reserve was, but he didn't reply.  I see the high bid was $7000.   I was kind of thinking about buying it.  Any idea what range your buddy paid?

the VIN in the listing didn't make sense, it was missing a letter or two at the start.  If a V8 car should have started with a V, then it was missing the next digit which would have been the model type.    Nonetheless, a good score for the price.
