1969 Pontiac 2+2 Convertible 427...Yes, it's THAT one!

Sometimes life throws you a curve that you never saw coming.  This is the car that was on Ebay and generated so much conversation.  Sadly, only 3 months after owning it...I must sell it.  Family comes before any dream that you may have ever had and an unexpected family issue has arisen and I need to sell my dream.  As you all know, I paid greatly ($45,000) for this car, and I guess I am just seeing, even though I probably know the answer, if there would be anybody that would be serious in purchasing it before I try the auction route.  You all have been a TREMENDOUS help in supplying information and parts for this vehicle.  I have approximately $3,000 in parts that all go with the car.  The interior, although extremely nice, is what is mainly needed for completion.  Again, based on the conversation generated on this forum during the sale of this vehicle, I can guess that there probably won't be any serious interest, but I thought you all should know.  Thanks again for all of your support and help during my brief time of ownership...you all are truely a great community of Pontiac enthusiasts.

Rob

I suggest you find out who was bidding against you on e-bay and give them a call. That would be the best way to limit your losses imo.

Yes, tremendous interest but a car in that range eliminates most average people as buyers.

My first thought too (before reading the suggestion) was to try contacting whoever bid against you.

It is sad to have to see you part with it so soon. I was just discussing your car with another CP member yesterday.

I have finally had time to take a minute and check in to let you know how things are going.  Without getting into the personal details, there is a fine line in some cases on when you are actually helping your kid and when, even with your best intentions, you are not really helping them!  I would do anything for my kids, but at the same time, it is the trials in life that make us stronger.  After much counsel on the matter, I decided to finance half of what my son "needed" with a home equity loan (thankfully rates are low).  The stipulation being that he works his tail off and works as many jobs as needed to make up the other half.  The Lord helps those who help themselves....and so will I.  Right now I have a deal with my son, who is pretty humbled at this point, and he said he will hold up his end of it.  He also said that he does not want to be the reason for me selling the car.
So, the car is still in my possession, but any additional work on it is on hold.  Thanks for allowing me to ramble about "my" problem!  May God bless you all this Christmas and in the coming New Year!

Rob

Rob, do you have a webpage for this car? Is it an original 2+2 427 car or (like my own) a tribute? I'd love to see more of it.

Thanks,
Dave

Old Autos latest issue has an article on an original 428-390 69 HT, plus another on a 67 Acadian.
