GM record

I was over at a friend's last night and he showed me a record from GM. It had a blue background with hubcaps and horns on the cover. Inside was a brochure announcing all the new GM's for the 1970 model year. Including the new to Canada 1970 LeMans and Tempest. There was a red Parrisienne coupe with 454 badges on the fender! Inside was a record with some of the hits of the day done by Canadian artists...

Have you ever heard or seen one of these?

These were in Dealer "COMMUNICATION" trainning boxes.  there is suppose to be a filmstrip to accompany each record.  Really cool boxes with multiple films and records, and brochures/pamphlets, etc.
They were issued each month of each year from about 1963 thu early 70's.
They are a bit pricey on ebay, and hit-and-miss as to relevent/interesting.

I have about 10 of them from 1964-1969.  really cool stuff!
you also need a really old "film STRIP" projector(NOT A REAL-TO-REAL 8MM)

OH, ive only seen them for chevrolet, but some of the films compare chev to pontiac, with a chev bias of course(sorry everyone)

NOTE: 65camino, i have not seen the one you describe

I took a few pictures of the record 65camino refers to. The tracks feature prominent Canadian artists such as Peter Appleyard and Rob McConnell...

It's hard to look at these kinds of things and not feel sad at whats happened to GM. Things were so upbeat and optomisitc then, that they even made records!

I've never seen this before.   I do have a 45 size record that plays at 33-1/3 that has the 1970 "This is the beginning of tomorrow" "GTO Rock" and "The Humbler" songs on it - for radio play.    VERY late 60's early 70's.   Reminds me of the mini-series "Wheels" when they record the theme song for "The Hawk".

I'd really like a copy of the record 65Camino is referring to.
