Thanks , I will try to make it out.

Here is another tip for the popular Jeep box swap .

Use the newer metric nut O-ring style  pressure hose from an older Jeep Cherokee .  Cut the double flared end off your old GM pressure  hose at the pump end , and then the pump end of the Jeep hose , and then double flare them both  , then connect  them together with a union fitting.     The return side is easy too, just use any  metric O-ring style return hose from the 80's -90's  , and buy it for $5 from the junk yard.

This was about a $15 job,  to hook an old standard pump to a newer metric box.

Passed Air Care today , however  , on the long way back  I thought I smelled plastic burning.  I  pulled over to make sure that I wasn't on fire , and I  found some melted wires coming from one of the rad fans.

The motor shorted itself  out, and it probably has around 100 hours of use on it..  It looks like the cooling system needs a bigger radiator so  the fans can cycle off more.  These fans are probably not designed  for a long duty cycle , the motors will overheat.

Out comes the 3 core Harrison  rad  ,   and as it turned out,  I found a bolt in  big block 66-67 Griffin rad ( still in the box ) on the local Craigslist. It was a good day.    Now I just have to measure up to find a good E-fan system from the junk yard , wire it up,  find a upper rad hose ,  and then I can cruise again.  I will be looking closely at  the F-body LS1 ,and Ford Contour twin fans.smile

Thanks , I would like to check that show out.  I should be able to get the fans in by then.  The jeep steering box and shaft made a huge difference .  The car steers much better  now .   Next week I am finally installing a  speedometer.   This  GPS one here    http://www.speedhut.com/custom_gauge_description-gauge_type-Speedometer_GPS-auto_number-892.htm

Never had a speedo , and will be  driving it up to my friend's hot rod  shop for a show n' shine and power tour  in July. It will be helpful  for that .  I plan  to burn a lot of gas and rubber this summer . biggrin

Added the correct Aurora lead wire set,  cleaned up the fuel line routing,  rewired the cs 130/ 100 amp alternator , the correct way ,  with a dash light, and  a voltage sensing wire at the main junction, and  I found  the molded rad hoses at Lordco that actually fit this combo.

Did some more work today,  1st pic shows  some dremel work on the plastic for my new speedo and tach.  I sold the old 5" monster tach and got something a little more classic looking.  The speedo/ odometer  is GPS, so no need for  cables , speed sensors , or  gear and tire height formulas , just hook up a few wires and go.

The small LED shift light shown in my hand , will be mounted behind the original turn signal indicator hole . The new turn signal and hi-beam indicators are in the speedo  face. I'm going for a little new school  meets old school , while trying not to clutter the dash .

The  speedo was rather pricey , but so are speeding tickets.

Some more dash work  .  Guages turned out pretty well,  a bit different ...     The radio is a long gone piece of Canadian history, so now the face plate is part of the fuel guage.

How hard was it to pull that dash panel,I want to pull mine but I don't want to mess up,can you share some hints,or how to's

Three  screws hold the dash board on the top, then pull straight back , and the clips will slide out of there .  Reach underneath and disconnect the  ignition , wiper switch , headlight switch .. etc .   Remove the seven remaining screws in the dash panel . Pull your floor plate on the column , and drop the column down enough  to slide the dash out.  The plastic is of high quality , ( not off shore junk)   , so its quite flexible, and cracking it shouldn't be a worry.

I'll make a note and have a look, see if it all makes sense.

Went for a drive today.  I really like the new front wheels ,  and the cooling system does a better job now.

Can't go wrong with those either.... Original torq thrust style wheels are my first choice for almost anything.. Probably why I have about 8 sets....

I sold the Buick 455 and TH 400 .  Its going into a Skylark GS convertible, which will be a good home for it.

Now what ?    Forced induction  LS engine with a  4 speed auto is what I've been researching.  All depends how much I want to spend.

As it turns out , I didn't want to spend a fortune on an engine swap , but time sure flies .

Junkyard LS engine from a Caddilac Escalade is in and running now. I put a bigger cam in , and upgraded the rocker trunions, and all new gaskets /seals.   Its in front of a custom built 200-4R   trans./ 3600 stall . I fabbed up a low mount alternator and serpentine belt system , and a type ii PS pump , with remote mounted resovoir. I was trying to make the engine look old school .  Once I tune this thing , it should  run pretty hard.
