RE: my 63 Acadian hardtop ...updated!

Actually, the 5 lug started in 64.

Yes, Beaumont is 62-63. 64-65 is Invader or Canso.

I know the Nova's say Z03 for SS but I can't recall if the SD cars have Z03 on them.

Do you have a shot of your cowl tag?

love a mystery. but now solved. 384370XXXX comes up as a 63 beaumont 2 dr hardtop. excellent. hood piece is 64 but does look cool. newer axles to 5 bolt were always a good mod.

I think on 63 the cowl tag is like the 65 for location, close to where the blower motor pokes through the firewall on the passenger side.

That would be the correct diff until 65. If it's a 5 lug diff, it would be a 64 only diff.

if you look at norms 63, his has the raised runners in the filler panel. its a Sport deluxe. your filler panel is identical to mine. sport deluxe and 2 dr hardtop are both 8437. i would say odds are yours is not a sd

I see the differences now, I do not have the pot meta; sie moulding , nor the extra filler pot metal piece above like Norms car.

Mine is just a lowly Beaumont hardtop .,,,oh well !!

these are the wheels and tires for the 63 Acadian.  I bolted them on for a burnout competition....at a church...yearly event .....30 seconds is a long time !!!!

those tires ha been sitting so long ,,they had a terrible shake on the highway,  but after the show,,,seemed liked they looosened up and rode a whole lot smoother...??

My manual states Z03 as the sport deluxe option on the '63 Beaumont.
I'm not sure if they stamped the options on the cowl tags in '63.

Again, looking at the side trim and rear beaumont emblem on Raddit's car, I'd say it's not an SD.

But hey, there's nothing wrong with an Acadian Beaumont 2dr coupe. biggrin

I may have explained wrong. What I'm trying to say with that is that there is no 64 or 65 that says anything but Acadian, Canso, Invader or Sport Deluxe on it is there?

I don't recall seeing Beaumont on a 64 or newer Nova style Acadian, only on the A bodies, or.......?

Guys, that trim is the same as 1 of my 63 beaumonts and I believe it is referred to as a sports coupe there was a copy of an old 63 sales brochure floating around and I think thats how it was promoted, I'll see if i can dig it up, not sure if it was here or over at Steve's

okay i do remember reading in a couple of the manuals. just rebuilt my computer and i haven't hooked up the scanner so the scuttlebut is.

62-71 parts cat states sport deluxe beaumont 63, sport deluxe canso 65/67

62 shop manual list a 8437 2 dr sport coupe 5-passenger

63 shop manual supplement has a * stating also available in Super-Sport Model

64 shop manual supplement 9211/9411 2 dr sedan 6 passanger (no coupes)

i have seen forespeeds car in person and one other one from east of me and the 63 canso in jacksons, plus my own wagon

the regular beaumont has a etched filler panel and the top peice of the side trim curves down to meet the lower peice at the completion on the filler panel. but the bottom peice runs the full lengths of the car.

the sport deluxe has a cast filler panel and the top does not curve down and all 3 pieces stop stop mid door.

the 64 canso has the same part number for the top piece and the filler panel but the bottom piece runs down the full lenght of the door

isn't this fun biggrin

Yes, and confusing as anything!

I will certainly never profess to be an expert on these things. They are 10 times as complicated as Novas.

Yup, there were no Nova style Beaumonts in '64 and on.

'62 8437 2 dr sport coupe is the Beaumont.

'63 they used Super Sport to describe the Sport Deluxe option (Z03) on the Beaumonts to further confuse all.

Yes this is fun. biggrin
