!967 Beaumont build sheet and 4 speed option question

I have a '67 Beaumont Custom with Sports option that I bought in April of 1968.Years ago I sent to GM and got the build sheet in letter form by George Zapora.Vehicle is a 4 speed and option on letter for this is M20 4-speed transmission-wide ratio 2.52 first gr.I know M20 is a Muncie, however the trans in my car is a Saginaw. If I hadn't owned car since nearly new,I would think Muncie had been swapped out years earlier for a Saginaw. The 1st owner told me it was a Saginaw when I bought it from him. So,how is a Saginaw specified in a build sheet? And would having a Muncie now,add that much to value of the car? Thanks.

I think most will agree, m20 option just denotes a 4 spd. It does not mean saginaw, m20, m21, m22, or st-10
now saying that, I do not know how to differentiate? This was discussed at length about a 80's camaro recently.

Someone here should have the inside info

Here is 67 GM info. M20 was also a reference to Saginaw

Manual 4-speed Transmissions

M20 was the generic RPO for a 4-speed transmission.

For lower performance applications (L6, 307, 327, and L65 350), the Saginaw 4-speed was utilized. It used a cast iron case. For higher performance applications (LM1 350, SS350, big blocks, and Z28) the Muncie 4-speed was used. It used an aluminum case and different gear ratios from the Saginaw 4-speed.

The primary Muncie 4-speed transmission was marketed under RPO M20. The close-ratio version of the Muncie 4-speed was RPO M21 and the heavy-duty close-ratio 4-speed was RPO M22. M21 and M22 transmissions were limited to specific high performance models.

The  4-speed manual transmissions ratios for both Muncie and Saginaw, with other Muncie data, are as follows:

Maincase Gear Ratios Input Grooves Cluster Output
RPO Years Casting 1st 2nd 3rd 4th Spline (Input) Pin Spline
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you know your user name for photobucket? That is all that's needed.

Oh, and welcome here. As stated, we'd love to see pics. Also, Fred will be in here shortly asking for a picture and info off your cowl (firewall) tag I'm sure to add to our Beaumont registry. If you haven't seen the registry and you're into vehicle info/data you're gonna love what he's done.

Ok, go to the picture you want to put on here.

Move the cursor over the picture and a box will open below it.

Bottom line on the box is IMG code

Left click IMG code

The line beside it turns blue

Right click on the blue, left click copy

Come here and in the "reply" box left click so you are ready to type in the box

Right click in the box and you will see the word "paste"

Left click on paste and hit reply as if you had just typed a sentence

Wow great looking car. Love that color combo. And it's so neat to hear of people like you who have had the car almost its entire life. Thanks for posting.

AK, I tried doing the IMG add on and it didn't help. Not sure why. It seems to be chopping off some of the line when he pastes it or something.
