RE: !967 Beaumont build sheet and 4 speed option question

The last time I used those photos was when I was on a Chevelle site a year or so ago looking for some info.and someone there put me onto photobucket for photos and I posted a couple(if I remember).Don't remember having a problem then.

Great looking car, love the colour combo and your engine bay looks well squared away. You just have to dig up some Super Econoflame flame engine decals and it will be perfect.biggrin.gif

The car was originally Butternut Yellow.I didn't like the colour(wouldn't say that now) and I never drove it that colour.Had it painted twice that greeny colour over the years then about 4 years ago, took it all apart, did the motor and G & L Collision here in Victoria did what body work there was and painted it a 97 Blazer Teal(can't remember exact colour) base/clear. Photo is how it came from factory with exception of bumper guards, those are repros. All interior is original, even carpet and headliner.Oh and I added power brakes and steering 4 years ago.35 years of towing a tent trailer,a boat, 3 kids in the back seat and finally easier to drive.Go figure!

There's a member of the local Canadian Classic Chevelle and Beaumont Club who was making reproduction ones recently.Don't know if he still does it.

WhoooooooooooooWhheeeeeeeeeeeeee!  That is nice!!!!  I have seen it on the Chevelle Forum as well, where others were lusting after it.  Didn't realize though that it is also a standard.  Nice job in keeping/getting it to the state that it is in.
While looking at the decals I noticed the valve covers.  Am I correct in saying that the VC's are not original?  Reason I ask is that my '66 327 VC's have an angular impression in them.  (Maybe it's a 66 vs 67 thing?)

Great to have you here (and your car too!)

Valve covers are original, same colour even.Since those photos were take,I had many problems with original Rochester that we just couldn't get right so now have an Edelbrock 1406 and intake(painted orange) and a GM HEI distributor.

Here's a picture that shows the VC's that I'm refering to. These pictures are not mine, but have the same type as my '66. As mentioned, maybe they changed in '67?

PS:  Also, neat to see the alternator mounted on the front of the bracket of yours with the bolt coming from the rear.  That was something that was discussed on a previous thread.
That sure is a gorgeous engine bay that you've got there!

IT's neat to see things like the valve covers.... I have always been told to look for the angular version as well. So , what year did they change up ? is this an example of a late build car?

Awesome car by the way !!!

I believe all 66 covers have the V, all 67's are like his in the picture.

I have a '67 Beaumont Custom with Sports option that I bought in April of 1968.Years ago I sent to GM and got the build sheet in letter form by George Zapora.Vehicle is a 4 speed and option on letter for this is M20 4-speed transmission-wide ratio 2.52 first gr.I know M20 is a Muncie, however the trans in my car is a Saginaw. If I hadn't owned car since nearly new,I would think Muncie had been swapped out years earlier for a Saginaw. The 1st owner told me it was a Saginaw when I bought it from him. So,how is a Saginaw specified in a build sheet? And would having a Muncie now,add that much to value of the car? Thanks.

But only on certain engine choices.Ive never seen them with a big block or SS but the 327-275 hp came with the m20 saginaw, and also lower hp vehicles. Also used in later 70 s T/AS and Camaros  as a "code but" they had Borg Warners

I thought that was probably the reason for a Saginaw in small blocks, better chance of blowing it up behind a big block. When I bought the car in '68 with 12k miles it was hard to get into low when moving so I took it to dealer under warranty.Got it back same day and never had another problem with it since, now 115k miles.
