I just don't get it why the Beaumonts get no respect. A 1969 Chevelle SS396 sells for $49000, and a 68 Beaumont SD 396 for $24,000? I know the 69 was a post car but really it's probably only as rare as the Beaumont and definately not $25,000 more rare. hmm

Oh well one of these days they'll get their due, and we'll be able to make money on them like their Chevelle cousins, but at least till then us poor Canadians can afford to have them.smile

I wouldn't say the Beaumont 'got ' no respect , example below is as close to the Beaumont , other than the rarity, cause there's like a gazillion Chevelle big blocks!!

I own a 68 SD, I 'd love to think it's my retirement money......

Yes it will definately be interesting to see where that 1 ends up.
Just shows for some of it there's no rhyme or reason to it, just personal tastes and whether you have at least 2 people who really want it or not.
B-J Makes for good entertainment and day dreaming of what if.......

wink

i think the 68 sd would have drawn more money if it was auctioned on prime time saturday . thats when the richy richy guys are there for a pissing match, ive been to the show a few times and theres no end to the money, i think you have to be someone or know someone to have your car actioned then, same old song and dance. lol

I just had a chance to go on now here at the sale and after talking to a couple consigners you pay an extra 1500 bucks for those slots.  For the guys I talked to it's well worth the money but bottom line it's all about the money.   I talked to one guy who was promised around 3 on Saturday but since then they have bumped in a whole bunch of cars, the lots with the prefexes and so his time is going to be way later which has him really upset.  Every one of those cars squeezed in was another 1500 so again it's all about the bucks.  Supposedly are expecting 6000 bidders at 500 a crack, just do the math.  12 by 12 vendor spot for 10 grand.  There's quite a bit of space here.  Sure is interesting though.

300 million Americans know Chevelles.
30 million Canadians "might have heard" of Beaumont

I think having the Beaumont in Prime Time would have been good TV.

The purchase of the car plus 10% to the buyer and 10% to the seller. so the guy also paid about $5000 more plus taxes plus delivery. not as cheep as we think.

I have to agree with that!!!!

That 68 sd was 'well bought' at that price... its a nice looking car... i don't think its out of line compared to others... that's just the real price! pretty much where i thought it was going to go...

I have another thought, If the new Camaro is only made in Canada like the Beamont. In30 years from now will it degrade like the Beaumont or will the americans think its their car.
