I think your right, chalk comes of way to easy..

wiped it off but still left a little faint mark but if I rubbed harded it would come off.

Went to my local buck store and there supplier stock the china markers in black and white. She said will pick up for me on her next run.  I will try the white and see what it looks like. I will grab  a black one also.  If it looks good I will grab you one Carl.

Grease pencils is what they used to make those marks. Only problem is clear coating over them can cause a fisheye problem.

Well I got some CHina markers (grease pencil)  and gave it a whirl.  Much better effect than the chalk and after rubbing with a rag. Did not come off or fade. I can see why the marks would last for years. I got black and white so Carl if you need I will give you at next coffee.

We have a coulple of those china markers at work,  i often wondered if they would work for firewall.   I guess they do!

That is what i will use from now on.
I bought the yellow and white ones that yearone and NPD sell.....didnt work worth a crap, all jagged and chalky.

Do you think those china markers come in other colors like yellow and red?
