How many 65 invader v8

Hi Guys,

New to the forum. Will post the toys up here shortly.

Wondering about a car i found, wondering how unique it is?
Found a 65 invader sdn 71411, 4 speed car.
it is a bit of a basket case.
Owner is saying he believes it had an L79 in it.
Is this possible?
Even if its a regular v8 4spd, is it rare in this body.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Any V8 is rare in a 65. If it is a 4 speed, it is likely one of few....maybe less than 50 made would be my guess. I have never seen one yet. My GM docs state that my 65 Canso SD V8 is one of 274 produced.

I am guessing this is likely a two tone brown car if I recall correctly. I heard of it a couple of years ago. Former drag car?

It should be a 300 horse car, there was no L79 in 65 Acadians, only in Beaumonts, Chevelles and Corvettes.

I would be really interested in this car if you pass it up. Keep me posted. Do you have any more info such as cowl tag #'s and VIN. I am curious now.

Some guys say not to post the whole VIN online. Not sure if that is a good idea or bad. I don't post my whole VIN but I'm a bit paranoid about it too!

I don't actually have the owner's name, just know someone who knows of the car. And don't worry you have first crack.

Just so you know, 67SD396 is my nephew, so it's all family posting here on your thread! We just happen to have identical 65 SD Acadians.

By the way, somehow the VIN seems strange. The body is a very early production but the VIN is not.

I am not saying anything is fishy or suspicious. It seems the VIN is off considering the car is likely one of the first days if not the first day of production.
