Shipping a Canadian Poncho from Edmonton to toronto?

I am checking to see if a car I am looking at out west makes sense to get. I haven't bought it yet, but will if I can get reasonable shipping.

Anyone know an inexpensive way to ship a non running car from edmonton to toronto? No hurry to get the car (another 57' Poncho). Most car carriers will not take a non running car.

try that Ed's Project Cars guy

www.edsprojectcars.ca

he's in Calgary and comes to Sarnia, Ontario pretty often with a truck load of cars-yours may fill a trailer for him-

Is the car driveable and reliable?

This might be an option http://www.torontodriveaway.com/des_eastwest.html
They have been in business many years. I have not used their services. They would have someone drive it to you for a fee.

Clint may know who Hillar used to bring the 2+2 in from Calagary, was it Brian?

Car doesn't run and I don't know what shape the driveline is in. I think it wil have to be shipped. Its an inexpensive four door for parts for my friends and my 57's.

I got my car shipped last year through SeaRail from Montreal, PQ to Brandon, MB. It cost me $900 delivered to my front door. The car did run. http://www.searail.ca/

SURE would be nice to find some people  who run back and forth and could take a car,  like on a flat bed  etc..

Hillar used Mackie Auto Transport last September to move the 2+2 from my place in Calgary to his place in Toronto.  It was about $1500 door to door.  I think they're set up to take non-running cars, but you'd need to check.  They were good to work with, and gave me the dispatchers number to coordinate things.    I'd think the price from Edmonton to Toronto would be basically the same as Calgary to Toronto.

I know I am going to stir up a "hornets nest"    BUT
I paid $750.00 U.S. to bring my 01 2500HD from Houston Tx. to Port Huron Mi. (78 miles from me)
I paid 750.00 U.S. to bring our Jeff Gordon 03 Monte Carlo from Connecticut to Port Huron Mi.
I paid 1200 U.S. to bring a "rust free" California car from Portland Oregon to Port Huron Mi.

WHY?
The truck is a "rust free" Texas loaded crew cab for $8995.00
The Monte is a "rust free" Nascar Signature car for 8800.00
The Ventura is as "rust free" as a car built last month, for 12,500

The cost of shipping justified the purchases of unobtainable product here..

eg.   the 64 2 door out West.  Lets say you could buy it for $3500   add $1500 to ship, and you have a $5000.00 95% rust free 2 door post!!!

It does not need floors, trunk, or quarters!!  What are you going to find here?   a $2500.00 rotted, rust bucket??

This is just my opinion, BUT "shake your heads!!

What ever you pay today, will be a hella of deal, 5 years from now...

If this this causes you grief wink press "delete"  lol

i agree, somtimes the condition makes it worth it!

iv shipped several cars through the staes, oddly enough to port huron MI also
and its always been cheaper, $750 is a little easier to handle especially when
the candian dollar is high, easier to handle meaning less of the nuclear melt down
from the Mrs. "when another of my giant ugly cars arrives in the drive way"

It's only money... I get more life out of an old car in my yard than watching my rrsp portfolio shrink....
Don't get me wrong, I pay the bills and the kids are cared for first, I'm just expanding on Carl's comment

The car I am looking at is a parts car - not rust free but the price is right. If I could get someone to ship it for $750, I will buy it.

If your wife has threatened to leaveconfuse (if you buy one more car)    the cost of shipping spirals off the scale

I made the "promise" that no more cars would come home.
They are not at home.

I used the Penner Bros. once and they were like 1/2 price of what everyone else wanted!.
Here's their site below...click on the quote link at the top and give it a go!.
If the price is too much it may be worth calling and telling them if it's any cheaper you're in no hurry so just bring it on a load when there's extra room?.

Not sure but it's only about 45 miles from me. We actually have a site member from Steinbach but I haven't met him yet. He has a nice 64 Pontiac.

If he says this, he may shed some light.
