63 Acadian "Barn Find"

Ok, it wasn't really a barn find. Since I had the day off today, I had the pleasure of paying a visit to Terry's (CP Member "TC") home to see what he has been working on. It's a sweet 63 Acadian 2 door hardtop. The fellow he bought it from actually worked at a GM dealer and sold the car new to his aunt. He ordered it for her and she specified a padded dash (to reduce glare), power steering, power brakes, and auto transmission. It had to be radio delete as the radio would distract her! He also ticked off the little box next to Positraction so that the car would handle better in the snow. Correct me if I'm wrong Terry, but I believe he said the car has 59000 original miles. She really is a sweetheart!:

Terry gave the car a good freshening up and she looked great!

Check out the pristine original upholstery!

Terry is just finishing up on some odds and ends and the car will be put up for sale to make way for the next project. If anyone is interested in this car you can PM Terry for more details.

It was great spending the afternoon "chewin' the fat" with you Terry!

Oh.........................my.............................goodness, is that ever a gorgeous little car....

Makes me sad. I have always wished my white Acadian had red guts.

Is this car posted in the for sale section?? I said it was coming up for sale. When it is ready to sell Terry will post an ad in the for sale section and post a price. I merely posted pics of the car because I thought it was a nice example of an early Acadian. Like I said, if you want details on the car you can PM Terry and he'll let you know when he is ready to sell it. He won't put a price on it until the final restoration bugs are sorted out.

I saw that too Ian!

I can't wait to get that marker and do that on my nice new paint!

I was going to put the engine in sooner but the balancer is a couple of weeks away so that is holding it up. Gives me more time to write all over the firewall I guess!!!

Todd, did you notice if the headliner is white? My white wagon with the red guts has a white headliner and I was wondering if they did that to all the Acadians.

I believe this one was white. There were two interesting chalk marks on each side of the cowl. One was "1" and the other was "2". Anyone see these before? I speculated that they were codes for defects noted to be repaired offline.

I see a 2 & 3 in the pics. Was curious what they were as well. That is the first I have seen of them but now I will look at other cars in the same spot.

What a beauty ! I love that body style and it is so much prettier than a Nova. I had  the same car but it had buckets and a automatic stick. I bought it with a cracked 194 cu in block and did my second engine swap, installed a 327- 275 hp from a 65 pontiac.  That car was black with red interior and a white perforated headliner. Congratulations on owning such a beautiful car.
