Well in terms of the "Rx", don't forget these were X body cars.  Also, it was quite common in GM to designate the engine with a single alpha character.  In the truck vin numbers throughout the years, the letter "K" represented a 5.7 ltr, 350 ci motor.  I think the 305 was an "L".  I used to know all of them back in the days I bought and sold used cars.
Of the two cars with the "RX", were they both 6 cyl cars?  We know the vin number did not designate the engine back in the 60's so maybe the firewall code indicated the engine???
I see this car has power brakes and there is another "X" on that side of the firewall.  I wonder if this car has power steering.  The guy on the assembly line needs to know if the master cylinder installation includes a booster.

Don't think the "RX" is for engine size on these cars Norm. My reason for saying that is because my 65 has the markings and it is an original 283 car. As well my car has no power steering or power brakes. It seems to be an Acadian marking for sure but we just haven't come to a consistent reason for it. There is plenty of talk about this in another thread on here about firewall markings. Can you see any markings on your Acadians?

Well, the 63 has been painted several times but the 62 4 dr is all original and I will need to take a closer look when I return home in April.
I will check my laptop for pictures but not sure if I have any with me.
