66 Acadian restore begins

Well guys I must be crazy to fix this car but here it goes. Started last week end so far about 15 hours in driver rear quarter and that just to remove the rusted areas.
I forgot to take some before pics but here is the after results. I also draged the wife out to help.

I told her if she wanted to spend Valentine's day with me she would have to come out and work on the car cause that's where I would be. But once we got there she seen why she had to be there. I had her gift their a scooter. I figure since her car is a couple years off I word get her some thing else to drive.

Well, she is smiling, so that's a good sign. As long as she's smiling towards the end of the project! biggrin

Good for you Vern, I see your drill bits are going to get a good work out. All those spot welds.

About time you did some work instead of just sitting at the computer all the time waiting to see if I'm working on my Acadian............ rofl.gif

Great that you've started the restore. And it's nice to see your wife in holding up the car up while you cut away. Mine refuses to do so.
But to be honest, the thing I'm concerned with here, is she really going to be bought over with the Canadian Tire Chinese EBike? Yes it's "Green", but she knows your car will probably puff black anyways under full throttle.
Judging by the look on her face, obviously she's just being nice to you so as to not cause you too much grief on this site when the pictures get posted.

By analizing her look while sitting on the electrobike, I'm totaly convinced she really wants to be in this type of scenario...

But heh... restorations on CP's cost big dollars today... so she'll just have to be glad with the pit bike for now right?

All in fun!
Cheers, Mark

Pretty good analysis Mark she does want a bigger bike. Had her beginners a few years back but was to unsure of her self on the bigger bike. So with this one she can get the feel for it. Baby steps. This one is 50cc so once we fix the governor it it will do 65kmh

Gotta start somewhere, a good way to get back on two, it'll be fun!
Scooters today are a lot more sophisticated than they ever were. I saw a few at the bike show this year that were pretty close to full on bikes...albeit, with small tires.

Cheers,
Mark
