RE: Greetings from Alberta!

Good to see you made it back on here Ryan. I was at that Reynold's car show and posted a picture on here of your tow truck and its passenger. Didn't know it was yours but will watch out next year for it. That's familiar territory for me as I spent my first 18 years there and went to school with Reynold's 2 daughters. I met the one there with her hubby and I hadn't seen either of them for 37 years, was pretty cool. Her husband ran the used parts there until a couple years ago. Great pictures you've got there.

Very nice! Great job with the photos too. I like the realy old stuff too. My current
project car is of that vintage, though not Pontiac ('29 Ford Model A Leather Back
Fordor). Thought your car looked familiar, I also saw it at the  Reynolds History
Road show. Brought the 2+2 but it stayed in the parking lot. Say have you ever
gone to the Leduc West Antique Society's show at the end of July? Lots of older
cars too not just tractors.

Wow, this is the definition of "Small World"

Your not going to belive this, but I saw you taking that photo, and I got a kick out of it, so I took a photo too! (I was actually pretty honoured that you guys liked my truck enough to get a shot like that)

Funny you should ask me that, I live one side road over and one highway farther south from Leduc Western Antique, so I go every year! Here is a through the windsheild shot when I was there this year!

Do you guys know of any more shows in the Edmonton area this year? I never got to do many shows like I had wanted to this year.

That is pretty neat. That is the most press my soon to be 90 year old mom has ever got. That was a great show and I sure enjoyed the trip. Like you said it's a small, small world.

If you want the full resolution version I can email it to you.

I was just getting such a kick out of the positive responses from people and all the attention my truck was getting, especially because dad and I built it the way we wanted it, not the normal way people do Rats.

I took 600+ photos of the Reynolds show, and another 200 of the Borden Park one if anyone is interested.

Borden park was fun, when I got there I parked about as far in as I could in the park, and put my truck next to a gorgeous 64 Galaxie, and the guy got pretty mad my truck was next to his car so he got in and fired it up, I figured he was moving it, but he actually left the show! Everyone one had a good laugh about that!

Hi Ken!

Does your brothers Plymouth have cracking filler on the roof and is it purple?

I hope you make it to Reynolds next year, it's very worthwhile to go to!

No, its orange.  He built it out of an old drag car called Wee Terror back in the 70's
It think it was proably the only one in Alberta for quite a while but there seem to be more lately.  Your 31 must be the only one of its kind probably in Canada!

Maybe the Alberta people could meet and cruise to the car show together next year. I live in Wetaskiwin and if I don't take the car to the show I alway's try to attend, it's worth it!!

There is a sorta rough looking purple one i see all the time in my area, the guy drives the wheels off of it and I have a lot of respect for that!

According to the pontiac-Oakland registry some years back it was one of 12 in existance, and one of 6 restored, I would love to know if that is accurate.

Do you meant the "History road" car show? I think that's a great idea, if enough people come out they will give us our own section if we want it and give us special mention!

I think we should make a thread just for that and get the word out, this could be a lot of fun!

I go to that show every year since day one and I usually bring at least 5 cars, some years more, some less... and it's a lot of fun!

Yup, I meant "History Road". I agree this could be a lot of fun. As you say they would probably give the group their own spot instead of being split up by year. Food for thought for the people close to this excellent event!!

i have always wantd to go to that but I figured my vehicles were not worthy as I drive them regularly and they definitley aren't show quality.  I am planing to have the 66 Grande Parisienne 396  running and road worthy if not actually completely finished by next summer.   I ain't getting any younger. So when are the dates again

There are many car's there that are not finished, the interest is more in the actual car's and the year's they represent. The museum display's many car's in unrestored shape so I don't see anyone having issue with car's the aren't perfect. If you drive them their not going to be perfect and after all we own to drive them. Somewhere around June11 or 12th, ballpark guess.
