wow. I've never seen so much data for springs. You guys are good! I now have springs that fit.

update - CQ now has my money, the springs and my Napa box. He had me jump through hoops all week with calls and the box ordeal.  Today he said" this isnt gonna work".  Rather than respond to my instincts and pull his tongue out through the hole I was about to pinch in his throat, I just walked out and prefer to deal with head office.  I usually just absorb the loss and write it off as a lesson learned, but this dude was such an insult with the BS he kept feeding me that it became personal.  I understand that he has his own interests to protect and some customers will try anything, but I have mine to protect and was willing to negotiate a reasonable settlement.

I have bigger fish to fry than this over stressed retailer, but I'm gonna see this one through for the shear enjoyment.

My CAR QUEST manager here, said that was terrible treatment!angered.gif   

 He, had all the springs available in 2 hours , and could have/would have gotten me NAPA SPRINGS.... 

As usual it was not the Car Quest franchise fault, but one manager who wouldn't  fix his own mess...  I would suggest a litte tour of the firing range in Gagetown???



p.s.  My friend here, says, if he has the same problem, he calls CQ ,and they send him a new box, with new number labels for it, the next morning!!!  duh

Yes, its not hard to tell when you are being strung along. My issue is with one guy, at CQ not the chain. I've had to call back everyday this week at his request, he told me to bring in the springs and Napa box(Napa came in at $70,00 cheaper than quoted), leave them with him and he'll see what he can do. You know the type, they'll keep putting the ball in your court again and again until you give up. He called back later today to say that he can no longer help me with my spring problem. Its one thing to stick me with springs that I dont need, but to ask and get them back and then wash yours hand of me? Obviously he is very put out that I called CQ customer service (after the refund/exchange was denied). If your a betting man......put money on me getting satisfaction. ;).

It's a shame this manager is associated with Carquest. But at the same time it's a relief it really doesn't have any bearing on the company as a whole.
Like Carl, I have nothing but good to say about my Burlington Carquest. The beauty of it is it has a manager that I remember from when I was just getting started with cars, and apart from the computers, the place is seemingly run old school to this day!

I think most people would have good things to say about the Company.

I like your last line and if you are being anywhere near as reasonable with them as you are on here, I'd say you have a pretty good shot at it!

Stay calm and firm and I am guessing you will prevail.

In case anyone did bet on my outcome......refund received.  (I would have preferred the proper springs, or been happy with store credit) I had to endure being told that I am the recipient of a 'huge favor'. Obviously we see the issue totally different, but I bit my tongue and said thank you.  I am usually such a door mat for these retailers that have a line of bs ready for anything you say, but when you are in the right, and determined.......its just a matter of time. Once he had my money and the springs back, I couldnt just go away like he wanted. I would stilll shop at CQ, but another location only.  I found most are helpful.

I was told when I repurchased my car that the coil springs had just been replaced as well as the front end components. I couldn't remember whether he said he replaced them with F41, which would be correct, or heavy duty. In any event I just ordered the original F41 springs from Eaton as they will remake them from the original part numbers. The ones in the car still have black paint on them from when he painted them before installing them. If you would like to pick them up you are welcome to them for nothing as I will doubtfully ever reuse them. The car sat well with them, if not a little high for F41. If you are in Ontario I will likely go to the Tillsonburg swap meet this weekend and I could take them with me. I do not want to ship them.

I truely appreciate the offer, and could only expect it here. But the new springs are in and look great. I havent seen the stance yet with new rims and tires.
