1975 Buick Gran Sport Hamilton Ont $1400

Always been a fan of the 73-77 GM intermediates. My first car (bought in 1983) was a 73 Chevelle 350-4bbl/th350 (shift kit), glass packs, swivel buckets (added). Bought it for $500. Loved to pass cars with the glass-packs screaming and barking off 2nd gear as I passed.

I've also owned:

1973 Chevelle Deluxe 396/4-speed (originally 307/3 on tree)
1973 Malibu wagon 350-4bbl/th350 (w/glass-packs) became girlfriend's car.
1974 Malibu Classic 350-4bbl/th350
1976 Malibu Classic 350-4bbl/th350

While I was driving the Deluxe, my girl had the wagon, and my friend owned a 73 El Camino.

Here is a couple of pics of a Buick GS which shows up at a local show. (455)

Hey its a organized motor sport! I put alot of time and money into my derby cars far beyond hick fair status! we are talkin 9" rear ends, 5.13 gear, stroker motors, new transmissions, tranny cooler set up worth $400 dollars new tires, good axles, and the list goes on! Id much rathe see a car like that have a valiant end then sit behind some hillbilly's shop and rot! Just my 2 cents! Plus did I mention up to $10,000 to win in prize money!furiousbiggrin

Cant run a 80's car in a old iron derby! would be a waste of time and money, Ive already picked up a 89 caprice this week one crown vic, and possibly another grand marqi, but I really want to run the open class this june at the billy bash but I need a older gm 70 to 77! could use a 70's caddilac or lincoln. You know I love the clasics to Earl but that car is not on the list of endagered cars, I cant afford that much right now anyway but I hate the preception most people have about demolition derby's you, Todd, and a few others have seen the amount of time I put into my cars and I take great offence at being called a hick! the amount of thinking, blood, sweat, and money that goes into are cars on a pro level is huge! now I wouldnt run a Laguna, or SS chevelle, but thow me a 76 Monte carlo, or any other mid 70's GM and im lighting the tourches baby!LOL Id cut up any ford as long as it was free and tough. I see what people mean like for me it hurts deep inside every time I see a mint Gremlin getting cut up for a mini derby but a 75 buick is just not that special. I love my hobbie and think its alot better then cars being crushed by the goverment to look like they care about the enviroment. It is good for the classic cars because it gets young people interested in cars if you go on the derby web pages almost every guy has a mint clasic car as a driver. IM NOT A HICK MAYBE A REDNECK BUT NOT A HICK! LOL

I've seen a lot nicer cars than that rusty 75 Buick in the derby. The only car I wanna see saved from the derby are Chrysler Imperials. Too many have been done in already, but they are still the champs!

Nyuck, nyuck! Who knows, in 10-15 years you could be the guy that derby-ed a six figure classic. I'm still looking for a fullsize for ya, not many left around I'm afraid.

Talked to the owner this mornig. Car comes with another complete motor. $1,000 takes it all. Rally wheels, buckets and console are worth that. He owns a body shop so he may swing a deal on restoration of the car.Let me know if anyone is interested.

I ran a 70 Pontiac Parisenne in a Gumball once-welded pop cans to the roof !

I recall selling a nice 73 Impala to a guy for $300-I kept the finned hubcaps for my Corvette-he stole the 400 small block for a 49 ford and scrapped the car-what a shame

No matter what the outcome of a Derby car or Goverment "crushing" the car is STILL GONE never to be on the road again, & that's what the GOV. wants, these cars GONE & so are the valuable parts to keep the ones on the road going!!! So have your fun, your helping out!!!!!

I doubt it-from my experience most sellers don't certify old cars-that said I'm pretty sure he'd let you take it to a local mechanic to have it looked at.
