66/67 Acadian Canso Front Clip Needed!!

I'm looking for a nice straight and solid core support, clip cross member, and left & right inner fender panels. Turns out my core support is rotten along the bottom where the torsion bar brackets mount. My cross member is also rotten where the swaybar brackets mount to it. Lastly, my inner fender panels are rotting at the hood hinge mounts. I'm located in Winnipeg and would be interested in picking up a complete front clip if possible.

If someone in another province has these parts (disassembled) for a reasonable price and is willing to ship, please PM me.

Kevin, I have a beautiful one from a 65. I am not sure but I think it's the same. I will try to find out. I can get you some shots of it if you like.

I just hauled it up to high ground last night!

Hey Carl - I was actually just taking a look at how the CPP subframe plate will mount to the core support and then I noticed some pin holes of rust at the bottom. I started picking away at the rust and the core support just fell apart. Looks like it rotted from the inside out.

Shoot me some pic's when you get a momment.

Ok, I can try to do that tomorrow in the daylight. I will make a note.

In the meantime, I will dig out the parts book and see if I can prove it's the same.

Rats, the GM parts book says 65 is not the same. Sorry Kevin. You are most welcome to take this thing and see if it's only some minor difference that you could overcome.

There is one posted under," acadian clip for sale". I have seen the add before so you will have to look. I will try tommorow and get back to you.

Hmmm I think I'll ask the question as to the difference between 65,66,67 on Steves. Did all the parts come up as different numbers? Does the parts book list them as assemblies or as individual parts? Maybe the core support is the same, but the inner fender panels are different. Maybe none of it is the same.

I checked the rad support and each "skirt" as GM calls it. They each have their own part number and sadly, each is different between 65 and 67.

Thanks for taking the time to look into this Carl. Because of the information you came up with I've decided to hold out for a 67 specific front clip. Just my luck you had a nice one but it just wasn't the correct year. Oh well something will turn up eventually. The CPP suspension upgrade is on hold until I get these parts though, I need the core support as a minimum at this time.

I have a 67 sedan parts car here but I am sure the clip is junk. That car has been flooded at least 4 times! I can't think of another one right now, sorry.

That 67 sedan is a good candidate for a "Rust-o-Mod"  rofl.gifrofl.gifrofl.gif

If it helps, the rad saddles are now a reproduction item but not the side panels.

I found that add I was talking about. I hope he still has it because it's cheap.

Nice find. I don't imagine he will ship only the parts I need, but if it sits long enough he just may part it. Shipping on a complete front clip would be insane. Notice also that this is a 66 clip because the steering column shaft is one piece. The 67 model year can be disconnected at the steering box.
