Interesting. I am sure that is the wrong front seat. I think they had to be buckets or else "Strato" with the fold down centre armrest.

Well, it looks as though a made a deal for this baby.  Plans are to go down on Sunday to Three Hills and pick it up(the fun part) and pay for it(the not-so-fun part)

Sounds like another road trip saga. Should be a real long day.  With any luck we'll meet up with Elroy.

Should be just about as much fun as the Gimli Trip!

Why do I do this?  Because they're there!

Another western car still intact is nice to see. All the ones left sitting around outside in south west Ontario are long rotted and mostly gone.

Hi Elroy, yeah sorry to miss you. We loaded up and then Bill gave us a limping(bad hip) guided tour around his yard.  I have to say you already took the pictures of pretty much all the interesting stuff.  About the car I still haven't really had any time to  look at it real close but it's basically pretty sound but has been picked over and it has a seat that really doesn't belong.  i was hoping the trunk was fulle of goodies but an old quadrajet is the highlight.

I'm not sorry I bought it because it does class up my parts cars but its kind of a limbo car. It would take quite bit to fix it (like another parts car) but the body is really quite nice by most standards (I.e what you'd see in Ontario) and the frame appears to be good.

Anyway, I'll be in touch, it's  been another 14 hour work day.  (I'm getting too old for this.) One more work road trip tomorrow and then I can stay home for a while
.

OK! Finally i got a good look at this thing and I'm happy to say  this is one pretty solid car!  Here are  a bunch of pics.  I will load as many as I can on one posting and then do it again.

They jump around the car all over as i could only upload the files as i had named them alphabetically but i"m sure those you are interested (and you know who you are!) will be able to figure out what they are showing.

Round three...Kind of a weird car.  Somebody apparently took the trouble to pull out the buckets and console (note the patches) and put in a column shift with dash quadrant and a bench seat out of maybe a 65.

As well it has a Parisenne front bumper and the pass fender is also from a Parisienne.

No sign of it  being hit in a ny significant way although there is a bit of bondo on the dirver front fender.  An amazingly unrusted engine bay and battery box.

Also I'm  pretty sure that ain't no Powerglide in there.

Hi Carl I think the body generally is better than my 66 396 car but not so much that I plan to swap.  Elroys first call was right on actually It's worth fixing. Its a tough call now. Should I leave it sitting in my yard to slowly get cannibalized or for the good of the Canadian Poncho Fraternity I should probably sell it after I pick some pieces off it so somebody else with a rustier but complete project donor car can have a good basis for a project.

Of course now that it sits in northern Alberta its kind of a long ways away for most people.

Oh well at least it is saved from the crusher that will no doubt be visiting three hills one of these days!

From memory I believe its 1800 klicks each way.  Even crazier than trying to go to Gimli and back plus I think there might be a mountain or two in the way.

Is your car body that bad that you would toss it and start with this one?

Well the frame on the Winnipeg car is rotten, but so far the frame on the parts car looks usable ...no visable holes yet. The quarters and truck on your parts car are at least 70 % better than mine..I'll send you some pic's.  I think mine is fixable but with a lot more work.....Yet I think if I spend the extra time and fix mine...... it leaves the possability of someone fixing your parts car..... and then there is two 66 Grande Parisienne's on the road instead of just one. That is if your even going to want to sell it. It is a very restorable car. MAYBE  YOU WANT 2 OF THEM on the road like some of us other crazy car nuts on CP. Wait a second ...you can't drive two at the same time...UNLESS>> you drive one 50 feet then run back to the other one drive it up to the first one and so on( I think I watched that cartoon sometime in the 60's)......Anyway......I'll send you a message !!

From 81 to 88 I drove 2 Grande Parisiennes, both 66. Both 427 powered. It depended how I felt that day----air conditioned automatic or no air and a 4 speed!!!

I say go for it!!!
