Found this mess on the underside of the car

So now i'm wondering how bad off i am?  That's the front frame area underneath that rust.  I'm not sure but is this the firewall or part of the fender, it's too far up front to be floor pan as that bolt on the right side top of the picture is on the engine.  This is the passenger side.  I happened to have the tire off looking at something else when i noticed this rot.  I don't know how the other side looks but i'm wondering if just this on it's own is real bad news.

That could be an issue, yes. I would think you need to get under there and really poke around the whole area to see how bad it is.

The good news is there's likely reproduction pieces available for your car, whatever it needs.

You need to poke fairly hard there to find out how big the area is. I would use a nice pointy tool so as not to make the holes too big but still find all the soft spots and see how far it extends.

Pans are about 400$ a pair. I need a set for mine as well.

I agree-looks like the front floor pan climbing up toward the firewall-not uncommon for this type of car-you can buy reproductions and install them nicely or simply patch them from the inside
