Go to the hardware store and grab some of that gray dumb dumb stuff in a roll or if you have any butyl from installing a windshield works great. Wrap it around the base of the studs and when you tighten down the nuts it will squish making a nice seal. If you need to remove the extentions, tail lights or anything else it's used on, it wont be a fight cause it stays soft and plyable.
