Very rare '73 4 speed in Halifax

These 4 speed Grand Ams are very uncommon. There is a number floating around that has never been confirmed of 187 or so.

I wonder if it was sold new in Canada? If so documentation may tell us how many were made.

That is a project and money and time will be needed in vast quantities, but it is very worth it . That car would be the only one at a car show.

BLAKGOAT said he would never ever again restore a 1973 Pontiac A body after doing the GTO SD455 tribute car. Based on information I have from owners of restored 73's A restoration of this car could easily top $50,000 and what is it worth on the open market ? Probably less than half of that on a good day.

A girl I used to work with back in the '70's bought one of the Olympic editions and it was a really sharp looking car. I'm SURE it had a 4-gear in it. Now, whether it came with it or was put in later is totally beyond me but she sure knew how to drive it too! Hers was the only one I ever saw even in all my travels through the states. Ray, you might know, were these only offered in Canada as the Olympics were in Montreal in '76? Just wondered.

I am at work, so I don't have reference material with me. The 73-77 LeMans was offered with the standard 3 speed transmission with the 250 six so it follows that a 4 speed might be offered in these years. The only thing keeping me from saying 100% is the fact that all 77 Can AM's were either THM 400 or 350, so if any car would get it that would be it. '74 for sure had 4 speed availble. A '77 with a 260 Olds and 5 speed recently sold on ebay in the US.

The 1976 Olympic version was only made in Oshawa for the Canadian market.

The 1975 Canada Cup GT is sometimes confused with the Olympic model.

a friend bought one of these years ago all rusted out-I bought the tranny for my Camaro-it had a heavy duty output and fine spline input with no rings-I pulled the side cover-low and behold it was an M22 !!

The girl I worked with had the exact red model posted above. As far as the 4-speed thing goes; let's face it, it wouldn't be the FIRST time someone bought a brand new car and put something in it
that they preferred instead. Especially if the car wasn't available for sure with a 4-gear that particular year and model. It was a beautiful car to say the least and she certainly wasn't hard ta look at either! LOL!! AT ALL!!!

This white 4 speed car was in Newfoundland for quite a while. I'm pretty certain it was always a four speed.
