Clean and simple makes it look so sharp. Really like the thread and it's nice to see the progress.

Haha will do roger.....

I'm slowly running out of parts to put on it seems.

But there's always more to do it seems lol

One thing that kind of bothers me is the window trim, both front and rear have some good dings and dents.  But they are 40 some years old now.  But for right now it's a driver, they should do just fine wink

Got the headliner in, its to completely done yet, but its close.  Took a bit to figure out the headliner bow configuration and to get everything to fit right.  The holes were all oblonged for the rods, so had to take a bfh/punch to the mounting holes.  That tightened everything right up.  Stretched the front/back of the liner/installed front window trim/stretched the sides today.  Used some 3m trim adhesive, seems to work pretty good.

Still have some wrinkles in it from it being folded in its original packaging, but it looks pretty good to me :thumb:

with the front/back stretched:

sides stretched:

Still have to stretch around where the sail panels go and install them as well.  Which that should take care of some wrinkles it still has.

Got the new headlights in, had a couple issues. Had to enlarge all the holes in the core support 1/8" for the bulb retainers to clear. As well as make a new mounting notch on the high beam only light bucket. Never mind the other sharpy marks, to many beers made me mark them in the wrong spots.  The low beams fit fine, no problems at all.  Guess I could have gotten a set of low beam buckets and used those.  But this will work just as well.

Appears the one bulb/plug may interfere with the battery, guess ill have to address that next.

I quite like the difference with the new lights on, seems to modernize it quite a bit:thumb:

Got the car towed home the other day, shop space was needed in the paintbooth. So it got kicked outside for a week. We got it home and a bunch of things done on it. Headliner mostly finished/visors-mirror put on, Wired reverse lights/tidied up some underhood wiring as well. got the rubber floor insulation laid out. Front half of the carpet is fitted/shifter and boot put back on.

A few pics:

Put a outwears filter cover on to help clean things up a bit, and help keep the K/N a little cleaner.

Headliner has some wrinkles in it from being folded, will leave  it till summer to see what the heat does to it and go from there.

Put an entry into the Draggins Rod and Custom in Saskatoon on Easter weekend.

We will see what happens, wont know till a week before if the cars in or not. Hoping the snow is gone this year, last year it was full blown winter still!!

Ordered a MSD soft touch rev limiter for it as well, figure that would be a worthy investment with the Tremec.

This weekends progress:

Got a set of seatbelts from Rabbit64cs, cleaned em all up. Picked up the backseat, got it in as well as the seatbelts.

Cleaned the trunk out, gave it a good coat of tremclad. Pumped the back part of the quarters full of my wd40/motor oil mix.

Front seat is done, just have to pick it up. Looks real good, can't wait to bolt
Er in.

Picked up MSD rev limiter for it, got it installed. Best place I found was on the inner fender on the drivers side.

My dad and I started straightening some more wiring
Out. Having some issues now, such as fuel gauge no worky and the dash lights come on with the key and go out when the lights are turned on. :doah:

Upon some more messing around, appears the light switch is whats messing with things. Ill have to pick one up i guess.

It's going back to the shop to have a couple spots wet sanded and buffed that were not finished.

Got word earlier this week that the Slowmont is accepted at the draggins, should be a good time.

Your making great progress. Speaking of oil undercoating, a friend of mine swears by chainsaw oil.

""Having some issues now, such as fuel gauge no worky and the dash lights come on with the key and go out when the lights are turned on. :doah:""

Nice progress.

With regards to the dash lights, I would think a bad ground, as it is pretty similar issue I had with a car that I had the dash out and then but it back together and forgot the ground strap. If the tank gauge is pegged I would look at grounding the fuel tank with a dedicated wire to the frame or body.

Had a look at it again this week, appears as the light switch might be causing my issues. Fiddled with it a bit and it randomly works fine/goes wonky like it has.

Yeah its likely a ground issue somewhere.

Got the front seat back, got it/seatbelts/fisher plates in.

The new seat foamies I got were quite a bit thicker than the 40 yr old foams.   Seems to sit a guy higher up/ahead than you should be, but Im guessing over time it should settle out a bit.

Got the car mostly wrapped up, ended up having the whole hood repainted  due to a run from when it was sprayed.  Got it picked up last wednesday, threw it all back together and beat the huge snow storm we got.  Got it to the Draggins car show, was approx 240 entries.    Car drives great on the highway, seems happy doing 70-80 mph @22-2600 rpm.   Also, weather smartened up and was lucky enough to only have a wet parking lot to contend with when the show was over.

Still got a few things to work on, slight oil pan/front cover leak again so it appears.  As well as the wiring issue.

Forgot about the LED license plate light my dad put on for me, things super bright.
