Looking for Badging and chrome parts for a 63 acadian SD Beaumont

Just bought a 63 acadian SD Beaumont from Ontario and need some badging for this car . Does anyone out there have the two front spears and the six cylinder badging for the front Quarter panels . Also I need for the two back quarter panels the sport Deluxe Beaumont emblems . At this time it looks good without the badging but would be nice to have them to put on in a few years to change the look more along the stock look.

New to site . Can anybody tell me why I have a little yellow sticker or ticket on the right side of my post.

Welcome aboard.
Before everyone else chimes in let me be the first to ask for pics. We love pics.

Believe the little yellow marker indicates that you originated the post.

I will send a whole bunch of pictures when ut arrives here by truck transport this week . Just bought the car and I know already the trim that is missing on the car . It is already on your CP Acadian registry from the previous owner. Orignally sold brand new from Calgary ,Stampede Motors Ltd. and the production date April 10 1963, model 38437 ZO3, Sports Deluxe Hardtop, I want to paint it it in the next five years and want to put all the trim package back on like original.Like the way it is right now but want to change it back in the future .

Just received the car yesterday . Took it from the trucking company to get it saftied Imediately . The only thing wrong with it and they would not pass it because the back up lights were not working, he said that it was more than bulbs and gave me a little info what to look for . They were to busy to look at it apparently. I will have to call the original owner from Ontario to see if they ever worked at all because you would think that it would not pass Ontarios safty either . If they were working last week then it will not be a big fix . But if they have never worked it could be a little work epecially since now there is a 327 in there with a 700R4 Trany. I have a buddy coming over tomorrow to give me a hand to find the switch and trace everthing down, He knows whathe is looking for . The Mechanic said that there were wires going to the front . So that is a good start .

Gus I have some side trim , I will have to take a look what is there . I have not unwrapped his package yet. Definately I need the ornaments on both front fenders,
- Emblem Front fender"6"Cyl.
- Plate unit rear quarter name SPORT DELUXE BEAUMONT
- Sport Deluxe emblem on back trunk

I think by just looking quickly he has sent other trim from other Acadians but I will have to take a closer look

ifyou cant get them to work you could always run new wires up to the dash and put a switch under for it , i had to do this once for a safty.

It should be simple to test the switch. This is a floor shift  automatic, right?

If so, I am thinking the wires are green for that. A test light will narrow it down pretty quick.

That is a tag. You can add a sub title or any other information to supplement your thread by clicking on it and typing what you want. You will see some folks have used it already on their threads, things like "50 Photos" show up there so people know that there is something to look at on that thread for example.

if it is a floor shift auto like mine there should be a backup/safety switch attached to the upper section of the tranny.
mine was bypassed because the rod from the shifter to it was missing.
simple way to tell if it is bypassed is it will start in any position.
I can send you a picture from the parts manual of this switch and rod..

We seem to be running into each other a lot and you are always helping me . The transmission is a 700R4 with a 65 Acadian council and I am not for sure but it might be a 65 shifter also. The council is not fastened for some reason either . I would like to take it to a buddies place with a lift this weekend to get a good look .Once I see what is what I will either do a fast fix so I can have it pass inspection or do it right the first time . If this is what you have I would gladly take a look at the picture in your parts manual. Thanks again

Brooksie, my co worker was talking to a lady in Winnipeg today who said they just bought an Acadian. She mentioned seeing my name on a forum when they were searching Acadian stuff. She knew my name because our company deals quite a bit with the company she works for.  (Westward)   Was that you?

Yes it is Carl. She told me she was talking to you last friday when she came home from work . My car was saftied because vehicle standards at MPI said that it was not law until 1971 so all I did is cover up the lights and now I have all the time in the world to fix the lights .besides that it was a accessory item that year . My alternator seized on me this past Sunday, made a huge racket stopped the car saw it was the alternator bearings drove it for another block the alternater seized , smelt burning rubber belt then when I heard it I told DAWN ,watch the temp go up!! It got up to 220 before I arrived home Two blocks from home. We had been cruising and stopping here and there for 8 hours on Sunday and were almost home when it happened .

I think Dawn asked you , but I will again . Do you know anyone in Winnipeg that would install a front clip, or just owers . I did not buy the car as a show car but to cruise around anytime I want to and go anywhere. I want to have a easy to handling and reliable front end . I have heard Horror storries. I need to find a fair and good mechanic .

I forgot to say their was no switch and there is no wires running to the lights . The guy I bought it from said that there was only room for on switch and he used it so the car would only start up in park . I am sure I can rig a micro switch up for the purpose for a back up lights somewhere.
