1974 LeMans - one owner car

I saw this car on July 10th and it is for sale. Looking for $4,000. Call Angelo at 416 219 3058 cell. I am sure offers will be entertained.

This is a 6,700 original mile car made in Oshawa in June 1974. It is pristine inside and has had one repaint over the years. I could see no body issues whatsover and everything fit as new. Basically it is like a new car. All trim and lights were intact. It is powered by a 350 2bbl Chevrolet engine as can be seen with a THM 350 transmission. very few options on this basic entry level D37 Colonade Hardtop. It has PS/PB/Radio/rear defogger/wheel discs/white walls/sport mirrors. That's about all I could see. Photos show a speedometer issue as it has not returned to zero but probably needs lube.

The engine has most of the AIR plumbing intact but the AIR pump has been removed, probably siezed like they all do at some point. Car has double hump crossmember but of course it is currently the stock single exhaust system.

This is a completely solid car that has spent most of it's life in a garage, used for shopping and church. Owner is now 86 and family is clearing.  I have absolutely no interest in this car but told the family member I spoke to I would post it. We don't see these cherries very often boys.

That car would look great with colour matched (factory style) rally wheels.

Wow   nice car, in good old,  no-resale green...      When I sold Chrysler products, the only GM trades we could get were green   The GM dealer had a row of them

I had made that comment in another posting about how we always used to part out green cars and
4-doors first. And if they were green 4-doors, there was NO mercy shown on them! LOL! But this
one having made it this far and so pristine and intact deserves a second go-round. Face it guys, even if a person doesn't like the green colour that's on it right now, then another green that goes with the interior could be done pretty quick. Even if it was painted the same green only with a little more metallic in it, I think it would still look great! She's a gem. Good deal for someone for sure.

Back in 1977 my buddy had a '64 Beaumont Acadian Sport Deluxe that was done up in what was called "Firemist Green." Believe it or not? It was a really really nice colour! It had a nice level of
metallic in it and shone like you wouldn't believe. Probably the only thing that saved IT'S life, was
it was a 2-door and had a hopped up 350 with a 4-gear in it. It also had that classic diamond-tuck
black interior in it. When he put it up for sale the next year for $800.00 I wanted to buy it but my Mum said I'd kill myself in it. He sold it the next day and a week later, the guy who bought it put it
up for sale for $1,500.00 and two weeks after that, the guy that bought it put it up for sale for $2,200.00. About 10 years after that, we saw her on a trailer all cut up and tubbed with a roll-cage. SNIFF! Hopefully someone will pick this car up as it does seem like a decent deal for what it is. In the immortal words of Kermit The Frog: "It Ain't Easy Being....Green"! LOL!

I actually like the colour!  I've always liked green anyways... get this... the green interior would be a bonus for me!  I've kinda tired of the gray/beige interiors that 99% of new cars seem to have these days.

Looks like a very nice car.  Is it as good in person as it looks in the pics?

Any more pics of it?  I'd like to see more! smile

I have more photos, I will download later. The car is excellent, no known issues at all to report other than my initial report about speedo and AIR.  This is a solid solid one owner car that appears to me to be able to be driven anywhere. I believe the asking price is fair as well given you are getting a 6,700 mile car. If the owner is 86 now you can figure out he bought the car when he was 50 as a reliable low cost good looking transportation. He had family in Batavia so the car made a few trips to New York over the years. To me this is one of those cars you buy and keep it completely stock the way it is, a set of Rally II wheels with white walls would be ok, maybe dual exhausts but thats it. This is a 36 year old time capsule car.

I agree with that - this car deserves to be kept as original as possible!

That thing is a deal and I happen to think the off colours like that are cool now. They sure weren't cool then. I did a 6 month stint at the Pontiac dealer right out of high school in 75 and I remember one about that colour hanging around on our lot for a lonnnnnnnng time!

Hi guys,

I talked to my wife about this car and unfortunately, she wasn't interested.
Even with all the positives about this car, she just didn't warm up to the
style and colour. We've been looking for something for her for awhile now,
and she has her heart set on something a little flashier.

Oh well, the search continues ....

Regards,

Scott (LandShark ...)

My experience collecting lots of other things and liking old cars is that you will never find "something" as long as you don't know what you want. My advice is to nail down what type of car she will accept. Once that is done the search is very easy and you will have her a new old car very soon after. That's my two cents twocents.gif

I like it. I wish i had the cash. It's a good looking car and a nice cheap way to get into the hobby. However i have my black money pit to keep me busy.

I almost bought it but the owner did not get back to me twice which is good for the car because i would make a GT out of it .
