Would you agree the body number stamping looks legit?

its correct for a Acadian from late september

And the font and crispness of the stamping looks good as well.

No matter what, a 4 spd upgrade with oem parts is always a plus. I guess I would leave the tags alone but the seller before went a little further. It's a rare car without a 4 spd so why would anybody mess with the original tags.

Got to agree with you there Paul. I plan to make my 65 a 4spd too but the tag will always be the factory glide!

My Blue SD rag was built as a 4 spd but the tags M-35 6cyl. The sad thing is the 6cyl SD's are really rare. The owner before me through out the 6 but I added the 350 and the 4 spd.

Would you be willing to do something for me sometime, no hurry? Can you check the block number?

Or do you already know the block casting number? I have guys telling me that the original 67 Nova/Acadian 283 blocks (194) will go .125 over to make 327's but I've been skeptical. Is your's a 194 block casting?

Carl,  I just bought a 283 block from Wayne at NNN on friday.  It is a 721 block which according to Wayne is the same used in 1965.  He says these blocks can go .125 over to 327.  My plans are to do this.  I'm still on the road now delivering a car for Wayne and then going to pick up a car for myself.  When I get home and unload the trailer I can take some pictures.  Then I will be taking everything to Terry Rosebush Motorsports for inspection.  Terry will be able to tell me what can and can't be done.
We will then put our heads together to determine what my motor setup will be.  I also picked up an original 4bbl intake and NOS carb for this motor.
Time to get back on the road.   forespeed

Norman,  The 721 block is a 327.  It was used in 65 and early 66 in Novas.  I have a built all numbers matching 721 out of an early L79 Nova.  The 350 HP version 721 has  all the same parts of the 362 engine except the heads. I think these were used up untill October 65 in the 275 and 350 HP version ( in the L79).  After that the 362 block was used.
The 721 would have the 461 heads and after about March 66 the 462 heads were used on the 362 blocks.  Hope this helps.

I've been going to ask for awhile so here goes. Was this car owned by Dan Annand from Courtenay BC at one time? I remember a very similar car that was restored in the early nineties, the trunk and floor where painted the same and almost everything that could be unbolted was chromed, a really nice car in any case.

This is third hand, but my buddy Wayne said his buddy bought the car from a guy in Brooks, Alberta. The guy in Brooks is believed to have bought it from Vancouver Island.
My buddy Cal saw the car at a Victoria show and it was an L79 cloner back then and had a lot of chrome and even had mirrors in the hood where the insulation was. The driveshaft was chrome too. It was bought out of Brooks with the chrome and mirrors still on the car.
Don't know much else, but it is sure an excellent car and I wish I had been a little faster at locating it when I heard it was up for sale in Brooks!

Still trying to build a clone of a L79 Invader, with a 3 on the tree, I see. When I was trying to sell my car, Jerry requested lots of pitures of my car, then he tells me hes just building a clone, and wanted the pictures to help him out with the build.
I hope you get it finished soon Jerry.

Rodger, lets be accurate.  I was high bidder both times when your Invader was on eBay (did not reach reserve).   I did ask for more pictures when you had it listed on eBay, because I was interested in buying your car. You were interested in my Harley and I told you how much I would have to have for it to to do a cash and trade deal.   We just never got together on price.  I told you in an email quite a while back that I never was going to build a Invader clone.  The car that is in this topic ( red 67 Canso ) was purchased just like it is today.  I really don't know why you have to keep making insinuations about me, just because I did not purchase your car.  I still think your car is special and did want to purchase it at that time.  You can tell by the cars I own I have a very special respect for Canadian built cars.
