Carl, thats interesting, can't open link but every one I spoke to when trying to convert my Catalina said you have to switch wheel to 15" & I had just bought the Cragars S/S's & new rubber so that wasn't an option. Even had a Co. in Stoney Creek say they could make up a kit,if I sent them my spindles & one wheel, they would send them "stateside" & for $ 3900 & change US they could do it!!! For some "strange reason" [lack of funds] I took a "PASS" on that one!!!!!!!!!

I bought a disc break kit with 11 inch rotors that said 15 inch rims preferred . I installed the kit and my 14 inch rims fit. The kit was from Hot rods and classics in Chilliwack B.C. for $500.

Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation front power disc brake conversion kit for 1968-1974 Nova models with 14" wheels.
Roger, no there was no question, Carl posted the 14" disc brake kit & I jumped in about the 15' wheels. Having the "American" Poncho creates problems when you want to modify some things, re, they don't exist or terribly expensive!!! Ammes Pontiac has a kit now for the 59 to 64's but it states you "MUST" change over to 15" wheels & "Scarebird" out in Washington state has a kit as well, same thing though 15" reg. You guys a "lucky" that Chevy stuff fits. but you don't have the "WIDE TRACK" that looks so "COOL" The 59 to late 60's chevy & Cdn. Poncho's look like thay are going to "fall over" with the wheels 'tucked" way in & so narrow!!!

I probably have misinterpreted something here. I did a fair amount of research on the conversion to disc brakes for my 68 Stratochief as it originally came with 14" x 6" steel wheels. If I had ordered it with disc brakes it would have come with 15" black rally wheels. Everything I came up with on my research indicated I would need to go to 15" wheels therefor I decided to go with the original drum brakes so I could utilize my original wheels which are already date coded, blasted and epoxy primed. Aside from someone READING that the conversion exists using the original steel wheels; has anyone ACTUALLY converted a B body car of this vintage to disc brakes using the 14" x 6" original steel wheel, not the GTO wheel, rally wheel, etc., JUST the plain steel wheel.
