It's a 1971, a 1970 would have the hood bulges and different grill.
The other is a 1968. I used to own one just like it but green with a 318/3 on the tree/3.23 sure grip.
Loved that car, sold it to a friend who still has it, but he put a 4-speed in it.

This week i first saw a 67 Polara moredoor in front of a house on my way to work that i think is for sale. No sign on it...yet. I've seen many older cars come and go from this place. I'd like to stop and look at it but i better keep right on driving. No extra money and i'm not sure how available parts are for those C body cars, unlike the A, B and E body cars. I love the tailights on the 67 Polara.

Both those cars for sale could be great starting points for Police car tributes.

I'm going phone and ask out of curiousity what engine the '71 has.
I know the '68 has a 318.

It's so dark green in colour, it looks black.

The '71 has a 360 4-barrel.

It was used by the film industry in Quebec as a cop car in movies. The owner said that it was always warehoused, and that it is rust-free.

Speaking of C-body 4-doors, how about a little California dreamin'?

Looks mint for $2250.  The only problem is getting it shipped up north!

1968 Dodge Polara 4 door - $2250 (hercules, pinole, san pablo, el sob)

If youd like the idea of owning a car from the 60s in all around top condition, but are put off by the stupid prices many people are asking for old cars these days, I have something of possible interest to you:

My 1968 Dodge Polara is essentially a 2-owner car. It is all original with 109 thousand miles. Engine is 318 V8, with a 4-speed automatic transmission, power steering & brakes. Original radio. No air conditioning. The interior is gorgeous. The body & paint are very nice. This car runs & drives like a dream; & the gas mileage appears to be pretty remarkable, too.

Again, if youd like a very nice older car that essentially needs nothing of any major sort, I think youd have a very hard time finding a better deal for the money. There are several minor issues that need attention, but they are indeed minor. The car is now ready to go anywhere. Price: $2250.00

Calls only, please

Thanks, Scott

It's a 58 Regent. Built in Windsor and only sold in Canada. The Regent is a bit of a hybrid - the front clip is Dodge, however the rest is Plymouth from the cowl back. What's really cool is the Plymouth cluster with Dodge stamped in it!
58RegentD.jpg

The Canadian Dodges were blessed with the "big" 251 C.I flathead 6. It runs and drives great. I want to convert to disc brakes and install a dual master cylinder. As for the engine, I'd like to install a split exhaust manifold with dual Cherry Bombs.  The 5 ton Dodge trucks used the same motor however they had dual carbs and split manifolts. I'd really like to get my mits on one of these. Keep an eye out you western folks! My goal is to make it reliable enough to perhaps someday tow a vintage trailer. I've also been informed that power steering is extremely rare on a flat 6.

Here's a shot of the Windsor plant in 58. I may have posted this before but what the heck:

Wow, just over 2 grand for that 68! Makes me wish i had the cash to go after the 67 i mentioned. I haven't looked at it yet. Looks good just passing by it, i better stay away though, in case it is a solid car. I know it's a big ol' Mope but i'd consider letting the T/A go for a chance at it if indeed it was a gem. On the other hand it could be a rust bucket that looks good from 6 feet away with all kind of hidden problems.

Todd, awesome car, you got a great deal on that!

The big mopars may not be the best looking cars of the late 6os and early 70s but I've always liked them. My Dad had a 69 Plymouht Sport Suburban wagon when I first got my license. Great for hauling the guys around, but the 318 was barely up to the task and those big drum brakes were scary at high speed.

Curiousity got the better of me today. I stopped and took a look at the Polara. The owner wasn't home, his wife just came out for a minute. I asked if the car was for sale and said probably if her husband got the right offer. He picked this car up last week. I don't know what engine is in it. Not sure when they started with 318's, maybe it's a 383. No rust on the car from what i can see. Has had some paint touch ups notably on the driver side front door. This is a four door car. Bumpers will need to be rechromed. Didn't look under the hood. Interior looks good. Car shows under 10k on odometer, i'm guessing at least once around. Not sure how long this car has been sitting. Underneath is hard to tell how good it is because of the oil. The car is absolutely coated so i'm thinking it may be very good underneath. I couldn't see any rot. Bottom of the doors and around fenders all look good. No rot around pillars or around front or rear glass. All the trim is on the car. This guy just bought the car within the last month. I think he buys and sells a lot. Maybe i'll stop another day and try to talk to the guy just to get info. If i was seriously interested in this car i'd want to have someone look with me. Oh, and i'd have to sell the Trans Am. This car looks really good but i don't think it will be coming home with me unfortunately.
