That's the car I was referring to in the other thread. Has to be very rare. I like the function of the breezeway window, but I'm not keen on the reverse slant styling. But a very interesting car.

I remember a '64 similar to that one driving around town years ago.  It was a blue 2 door sedan with a 6.  I believe it's still around somewhere in the province - it was for sale in a disassembled state last year.  Not sure what became of it since then.

Here's a '65 wagon that I saw at a local car show about 4 years ago:

I had a 63 Meteor 4 dr with the breezeaway. I remember the 1st time in one as a kid. It was a new car then, a taxi and the driver put the window down for us. I thought that was the coolest!!
I also had a 64 Rangoon Red convertible with red interior when I was 19. A all time fav.

I've got the Canadian 1964 Meteor brochure.

They were Mercurys with Ford dashes. Only 3 engines were offered: the 223 six, the 352 2-barrel, & the 390 4-barrel (the same 3 engine that Canadian-built big Fords had). In the U.S. the big Fords offered 223, 260, 289, 352, 390, 390 Interceptor, 427 4-barrel, 427 2x4. The U.S. Mercury lineup started with the exclusive 390 2-barrel.

Our neighbor had one.  Although I didn't realize it was called the "breezeway", I'm reminded of it whenever I unzip the rear window of my ragtop, and hope my kids find the experience as memorable as I did.  Thx for posting the pic!

I also have a 1964 Meteor Custom four door sedan.  It has a 352 engine, 3 in the tree, manual steering, brakes and no Breezeway.  For 1964 the Breezeway it was optional on Meteors and the only year it was available.  For 1964 it was a last minute decision to bring back the full size Canada only Meteor.  Therefore there is no unique trim or parts other than the Meteor script.  It was basically a Mercury Monterey with a Ford Galaxie dash in Custom form.  The plain model simply called "Meteor" was further detrimmed and featured a Ford Custom interior.  For 1964 and afterwards the Mercury Monterey was no longer available in Canada because it was thought to interfere with Meteor sales.  In 1963 the Meteor equivelent was the Canada only 400 model which was a detrimmed Monterey with a reverse slant window but no Breezeway available.
