1963 Chevy Nova/Acadian SD 2dr race car. This car was raced some time ago. It had a big block in it ( no motor or trans included ) The doors have been modified for Lexan windows ( not included ) There is a full roll cage in it ( will need to be redone ) Big Block Headers and modified oilpan are included. New rear quarters installed, rust free car, front fenders, bumpers, chrome and grill are there. Nodular 9" posi rearend. $1500 Firm will not take any less, need the space. This would make a good bracket car, would take a fair bit of work to make it street legal. If it is indeed a 65 SD it could have been a V8 alright (718) but not in 63, you are correct.

Bit of a mystery.

Let me ponder this one a bit. There must be a way to tell a 63 shell from a 65 shell.

65 is the first year they used 5 digit body codes

if it was a 63  it would be a 8337 or 8447 or in 64 9437 or 9337

this was sent as a 71737

also R in 64 and 65 was Adobe Beige and Desert beige and the interior codes were different
this car looks originally red going from the cowl shot

raced or not looks like a good deal for 1500 bucks,does anyone remember any Acadians being raced in Alberta,

looks to be south of Edmonton in Leduc

Good point about the 5 digit code. I was thinking more of trying to figure out a difference in the shell in case that tag doesn't belong on that body.
Could be 63 shell, 65 cowl tag?

Sheet metal is the same except trunk lid and tail light openings. Front bumper is different.

There must be something I can think of.

Carl,  the 63 didn't have any holes in the dash unless it was an SS, then they are in the middle.
The 65 Nova had stainless trim at the bottom of the dash, not sure of the Acadian SD.  More than likely the dash is the one thing not changed.
Almost need to see the car in person or a close up picture of dash.

Good tip Norm. I can't imagine changing a dash in one of those since it's welded in, you are right.

The 65 SD has trim more like a 63 Nova SS if I recall correctly.

I will have to look at some pics tonight.
