68 2+2 fender louvers

Does anyone  know where I could find a set of front fender louvers for my
'68 2+2. Also the 2+2 trunk emblem. I've been searching swap meets for
ever with no luck.
Thanks JC

Hi there,

I don't know where you'll find the louvers. Do you have the originals ?
If not, here are the dimensions of mine :

4 1/4 x 1 1/8 inches. I can send some pictures too, if desired.

I replaced my trunk 2+2 emblem, with a repro found on ebay. There
is one there right now :

http://cgi.ebay.ca/New-1965-1966-Pontiac-2-2-decklid-emblem-/170526435519?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27b42ae8bf

I know it says 65/66, but it's the same style and dimensions.

I took mine off and verified that the GNM part # is 4519024.

Regards,

Scott (LandShark ...)

Didn't we come to the conclusion that Acadian louvers are very similar?

Might give an alternative source for these parts.

Good info on the 2+2 nameplates Scott!

I don't have a source for them, but below are the 1968 2+2 louvers. To my eyes they are significantly different from the Acadian SD louvers.

Thanks Scott.
I went on Ebay and purchased the emblem. A new one for $30.00 - I probably
would have paid $20.00 for a used one. Would louvers from a 67 be the same?
Was that not the last year of the 2+2 in the States? That definitely would expand
my search parameters.
Thanks Again
JC

The 1967 louvers appear to be different both in dimension and number. For 1967 they used 5 louvers in a row; for 68 the used 8 narrower louvers.

Yes, 1967 was the last year for the 2+2 in the States. Exteriorwise the Canadian & U.S. 2+2 looked very similar; the Canadian 2+2 had more trim out back like a Bonneville  but the tail lights were narrow Catalina-style with modified Bonneville trim between them).

The Tahoe Turquoise 67 showing the louvers (see attachment) belongs to a friend. It appears to have 1964 GTO wheelcovers on it.
