Actually our Grade 8 Science teacher had a white one with a six. He always got white convertibles with black tops. before the LeMans he had a Corvair.

In fall 1964 our Chevrolet dealer, in Sackville N.B. had a new black 1965 Impala SS on the floor...  Red buckets,  tinted glass,   SIX cylinder!    My hockey coach bought it....

Missing front fender louvers.

Man, I have a soft spot for that model. The original owner of my '66 Beaumont upgraded to one that was almost identical to this (a little darker and with a V8).
One other tidbit that is kind of funny is that the name of the original owner is/was Tempest.

I have been semi seriously looking into getting into a nice old 60's, 70's car. But with a mortgage and 3 kids its difficult. What I would really like is a 66-67 GTO/Tempest/Le Mans convertible, but money always gets in the way, or that is, the lack there of!!

I do have a soft spot for this model year though; my cousin (and one of my best friends to boot), who is much older than me, had a 70 GTO coupe, RA IV with 4 speed. We ALL loved that car, parents included.

I defer to the experts! Do I seriously look at this one? Help out a guy who is just getting back into this hobby after 20 years and point me in the right direction so i dont regret it.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Wow. If that car is not a serious rust bucket that is certainly a good price for a desirable drop top.

I'm in the middle of a resto of a 70 Lemans Sport,,,,and more dollars sunk into mine than the asking price of that one ,,,,,and my car is no where near driveable...( last pic )

I'd jump on it if it tickles you..

If the car is as clean underneath as it is above, that car is a great buy!

Looks like a honey for the money!.
Parking the original 6-shooter on the shelf and V8'ing the car would be an easy swap too!.

Your '70 is looking good Rabbit!.

Hey Rabbit? As far as cruise night lawyers go? Just say what I always say when they start picking their noses and yer car apart at the same time: "You're certainly entitled to your OWN opinions; thing is? I just DON'T WANT TO HEAR THEM!" and calmly walk away. Plain and simple.
I just DON'T have TIME for people like THAT!

LOL !! thanks ...I've had my share of 'helpful people ' at the shows,   I really enjoyed the time a few years ago that I took my rusted out 67 GTO to our local show,, and threw a handfull of permanent markers on the hood for people to write words of inspiration on the car the with !!

IT sure made some people uncomfortable ,,,,And I sure got a chuckle !
