I'm thinking that burning coals and God's wrath will do the job much better than your trying to "get back at him"!!

As Carl said - be nice, it ticks them off!

If nothing else you will gain more respect by being nice instead of lowering yourself to acting like them.

That's my mini sermon!!

What exactly does the by-law read. Is it a noise issue or an unregistered vehicle issue? The noise complaint is easy to deal with but the other ,what is the definition of a vehicle. Is a fender leaning against the garage a car, or maybe a fender a hood and a couple tires is that a vehicle and what about a rolling frame sitting in the driveway . Is it the affixed serial # tag that makes it a car or whether it has a complete drive train ,if it's unregistered does it really exist ? We all know that if there is a loop hole to be found politicians and big business's will find it. Find a way around this issue, use your brain not your brawn, it might have worked in the old west but you will find laws aren't that lenient on people who go around trying to intimidate folks...

P.S. I think it's great for young and old to share in this hobby. As time rushes by it seems that most kids are drawn more to new age entertainment or interests. The love for cars has brought a lot of enjoyment to our family . So all you dad's or mom's go ahead spend some good quality time with your children, bridge the gap between the generations go out and get that Pontiac, drag it home and get to know your family. If that doesn't work smack'em around a bit....just joken.

very true and good advice. Can't disagree with the other advice either. "Be shrewd as snakes but innocent as doves."

I had a bylaw officer years ago stop by when I was trying to sell a car for a buddy. He told me if he can't see it there can be no complaint....just park it behind the house or put a plate on it in the driveway, just not on the front lawn. He thought it was a waste of time being there, but had to follow up on the complaint.

I had a former neighbour try to make my life hell for a while, he had waaaay more junk in his yard then I did in mine, ad he told the county that he refused to pay his taxes until something was done about me... and for the 20 years he was our neighbour before that we never had an issue, we kept him mobile for years, we painted his cars and changed his engines, and then he snaps like that... we were forced to adhere to some ridiculous rules for a while till the bylaw guy came out (bylaw Bob) and Bob was a guy i had heard horror stories about, but when he came out he was this nice British Gent and he said we were fine and it was a case of the pot calling the kettle black!

But that was years ago, now all of our neighbours are great people who are all into the very same thing, nobody here cares when you make noise, and if you want to party all night just invite the whole neighbourhood too and there is never an issue!

It helps too that my whole community is a group of 9 houses together in the middle of nowhere in the country (the remains of a ghost town)

I wish you luck Jonathan.
