I have always loved these early/mid 50's Studebakers.

I agree that they were way ahead of their time. Comparing these to similar vintage Chryslers and such, there is no comparison. This body looks like something out of the mid 60's instead of early 50's.

Wish I had one.

Studebaker Starliner, 1953 to 55?
Just reading a bit, design credited publicly to Raymond Loewy, but really designed by Virgil Exner.

I alway's liked the '59 Studebaker Lark and the '64 Studebaker wagon with the sliding roof. They built some truely unique car's. The only car my grandfather bought new was a '59 Lark. I've seen three Tucker's in person, now there is a cool piece of automotive history!! They were ahead of there time!

I've gone on the Tucker website many times ... love Tuckers, and all the stories/conspiracies/mysteries that go along with them.

Tucker fanatics are insane about the cars ... more so than Canadian Poncho fanatics! biggrin

It is a car that 99.9% of the fanatics will never own.

I own some of the Boyd Glass Tuckers:

That Tucker's a way cool find but rough up close..
http://www.tuckerclub.org/bbs3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1925

My Stude's a '49 Pickup, two of them here and almost enough to make a decent one..
I wanted one since I was 10 years old and have a 409 here on a stand for it also a TransAm subframe and more..
I've had it over 25 years already so hopefully get a chance to get it done before I am..

Being into Studes Todd, do you know the Graham boys from Haydon ON?.
They're old family friends and where I got my Stude fever from also were (still are) the last operating Studebaker dealership!.

Is that '49 w/ the bullet-nose a for sale car Carl?.
Note the recessed lower grilles so actually a '50 nose as the '51 grilles were flush..
I like it!.

I've heard of them. I think they were selling one of the last car sold there a few months ago.
