1950 Pontiac Ambulance

I figured I should post photos of my Canadian Airforce 1950 Pontiac Ambulance for you guys, I need some little bits for it, but overall it's nt that bad, and it looks waaaaay worse then it really is because of that surface rust.

Ihope I didn't post this yet, because I cannot recall if i did and I didn't see any posts by me... but if i did, sorry.

The moddified front door top.

The inside, some 46 Chevrolet headlight bullets, some vintage emergency lights with blue lenses (snowplow?) a windshield half I found at the Reynolds Museum.

Fun with photoshop.

I really like this car, I was hoping to have it mobile over the summer, but I just could not unstick the engine, and that is sad because it has only 35000 miles on it.

That is going to be one really sweet ride, once you are done with it. It looks fairly solid and complete. Being an Albertan vehicle is what saved that vehicle. Alberta seems to have a lot of solid cars, like B.C.. MY 57 Pontiac came from Alberta and it is a very solid car unlike our Ontario junk. Here in Ontario, they have been heavily salting the roads since jesus was a baby. Good luck with the resto Ryan. I only hope you resto it original. Cheers. George.

Unseize it, fix it a bit, safety it, leave it, drive it.

Yes it's an original dually, the truck was built for Asplhund in Pennsylvania for Asplhund Ford (they have their own dealer??) and it was sent up to Alberta and used as a sprayer truck, so it had a cheap little thin deck on it and a tank on the back and drove very slowly beside railway tracks spraying, but they hardly used it from new in 94 till I got it in late 2008, it had only 90 000km when I got it, no glass, no interior and a half stripped out body... but the shop I got it from had used it as a make work project when tey were slow and built a really over engeneered deck for it and a front bumper, so I got the truck for $500 and the deck and bumper for $500 and built it over the winter of 09 in a local shop at night! The truck is a 460 5 speed with posi diff front and rear, and if I had enough straps and chains it could move the world!

Well they started salting ut here several years back, I heard a few guys from Ontario are now in charge of that sort of thing and thats why they salt... but with the cold we get the salty slop refreezes and makes the whole thing a lot worse, so I really hope they stop it, it has ruined my car trailers finish.

I'm not 100% sure how I am going to eventually do this car, original is drab gray, but i want to do it pearl white or regular white with a red stripe, I am thinking of etchng the rear side windows with some art deco medical crosses I saw on a 50 packard once. The flat six is siezed solid, dad and I messed with it for the last year and made no progress at all sadly.

I like patina too! (my tow truck is made of patina!)
