RE: 1968 Parisienne 427 for sale, finally have photos!

MY '68 427 CAR IS VERY COMPARABLE TO THIS ONE AS FAR AS CONDITION GOES. I HAVE JUST SHY OF $10,000 INTO IT TO BUY AND SHIP TO MY GARAGE. I HAVE BEEN OFFERED $13,000 FOR IT. IT IS NOT FOR SALE. IS IT "WORTH" $10-13,000? IT IS TO ME AND AT LEAST ONE OTHER FELLOW. I HAVE SEEN AND HEARD ABOUT 427 PONTIAC CARS SELLING FROM $2500 - $16,000. ALL HAVE NEEDED MORE THAN A LITTLE RESTORATION WORK. THESE CARS ARE RARE, IF SOMEONE WANTS ONE THERE ARE NOT ALOT OUT THERE TO CHOOSE FROM. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE THE GUY THAT FINDS A CHERRY ONE IN A BARN SOMEWHERE FOR A STEAL OF A DEAL BUT THAT IS THE EXCEPTION, NOT THE RULE. AT THE END OF THE DAY IT'S WORTH EXACTLY WHAT SOMEONE WILL PAY FOR IT. SOMEONE WHO REALLY WANTS ONE OF THESE WILL CERTAINLY PAY MORE THAN SOMEONE WHO WANTS IT FOR A FLIP. I DON'T UNDERSTAND ALL THE COMMENTS ABOUT PRICE, IF IT IS MORE THAN YOU WOULD PAY FOR IT, DON'T BUY IT.

Here is something on YouTube that would make you think that this 427 car is a bargin....   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJkRoPaA128

I would post the video here but you need to read the asking price on YouTube below the video.

I looked at that vid ... I didn't really see one excellent piece on the car! I like all the close-ups of the SS emblems thoughbiggrin

My 69 Parisienne 427 car is low mileage, rust free, option loaded and pretty near mint. I know what it's appraised for but I have no idea what it would sell for. Not that it matters just now as it's not for sale. I paid a relatively high but fair price when I bought it 7 years ago; on paper it's worth a lot more now  - but would I get it? Who knows ....

Each individual needs to make his or her own judgement about what a car is worth; as others have noted, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I've bought a couple of cars over the years that turned out not to be worth the money when I got into them; but for the most part I've been happy with the cars I've bought - well worth the investment.

This 68 has lots of potential and is very rare; it seems worth saving, but that's a job for someone who has a passion for the car.

The video is of a 1966 Nova SS    what does it have to do with 68 parisienne 427?

He is pointing out that the Nova is a huge project and the price is higher. Also, the Nova is a 283 powerglide, kind of the low end as far as desirability compared to a 427 Pontiac.

I thought this topic was about a 68 427 Parisienne. What does that have to do with a 66 Nova?

Second from the top, 67SD396 posted a link to a car for sale that shows a Nova needing total restoration, at a higher asking price than the 427 Pontiac.

I think his idea was to prove that the 427 car is not carrying an unrealistic asking price in comparison.

The car is certainly a cool piece of Canadian History

I think a lot of us, would look at it differently, if we HAD money...
I would buy it and restore it in a minute, if I some serious extra cash
With a lots  of swapping and sweat, it could be made into a safe summer cruiser..
That old 69 427 4 speed of Morley Browns was bought for 3000.00  and will not be restored....
lets hope someone like the mystery Dentist will buy it....

 We have "BINGO" here folks!
