And if there's a silver lining to be found here I think it's that it won't rust away in Texas.

The interior will be overexposed and fade, but the sheetmetal will have a better chance in Texas.

I would have to agree with 65camino. Plenty of people here in Canada think nothing of going to the USA and getting a car and bringing it here. Do we think Americans say "What a sad day, a Bonneville has gone to Canada" or whatever. In fact US models are revered by most people in this hobby. Isn't it a Great Day in Poncho Land when a Canadian car goes to the USA?

The interior fading won't be problem once it's replaced with the black bucket seat interior during its conversion to a Chevelle SS... biggrin

Even if that car stayed here it's only a matter of time before someone rips out that straight six and puts in the biggest phallic symbol of all time otherwise known as a big block and slaps SD badges all over it.

Ha ha!  I love the plate!   I think it's cool when some of our CPs end up south of the border.  It seems that they are appreciated even more for their uniqueness down there.

My previous comment about the Chevelle conversion was just a joke... I'm sure somebody from Texas wouldn't bother coming all the way to Canada to get a Beaumont and then convert it to a Chevelle that they could have easily found in their own state

http://www2.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.cgi?cat=cp&itm=chevelle&loc=TX&fil=&ys=1969&ye=1969&ps=&pe=&pgs=100&submit=++++go++++

More than likely they appreciate the uniqueness of the Canadian Beaumont and want to have something that nobody else has down there.  Besides, isn't there a city in Texas called Beaumont?  Maybe they're from there....
