How would you know if a 65 Acadian Canso was a original manual trans car or M-20 4 spd. I know 65 Beaumonts have a M-20 on the cowl tag but what about a 65 Canso?

1965 Canso cowl tag would also have M20

I haven't seen one on here but I have a bunch of info from a guy who has a 4 speed 65 post car.

Still waiting to hear/see an original SD though.

I have the console from one but that's as close as I got so far! Funny thing is, I bought the console out of Washington state.

We have to find that thing! It must be close to me. The production must be low? If I found one I would pass it on. I don't need another.

Yes, I figured it likely came from a BC car at some point.

It was advertised as a Nova console but when I got pictures it had no SS emblem.

Needless to say I grabbed it for my car and now I don't have to use my Nova 4 speed console in it.

The factory 4 speed 65 Novas seem to be rare but the Acadians seem to be non existent.

I thought I found one but it's just a 65 SD auto with pedals in it. The cowl is M-35. This ones missing all the hard to find trim but it's solid. 3K??

Hmm, tough call. V8 or 6 cyl car (718 or 717?)

Solid certainly is a bonus. Bare shell or pretty complete minus trim?

It would take the right guy to pay 3 I think. I'm not saying it's not worth 3 because someone bent on a 65 SD would likely still be interested at that, trim missing or not.

V-8 car rolling chasis. It's a tuff one but it's not a rust bucket. I'm sure somebody will buy it off the fellow. It's not really for sale but I asked if it was. One of those deals.

3 grand might be a stretch then. One exception to that I guess would be if a guy had a complete SD that is crashed or rotten. In that case then it could be a good deal for someone.

When you say the hard to find trim, do you mean the grill and everything or just the emblems etc....the seats etc all there? Has this thing been hidden away or would an island guy know it?

For me, I would call the hard to find trim all the upper side trim. It's made of unobtanium...

It's the only thing on the car that is unique to SD's except for the SD emblems of course. The front and back trim as well as the lower side trim is all the same as a Canso.

Now that you mention it, even that stuff is hard to find!!

One thing to keep in mind is how unusual the car is though. I think the V8 SD production was 274.

And most of those V8's were likely 283's. Very rare to see a 65 with a 327.

Agreed. Still actually waiting to see the first 327, or 4 speed, or, best of all, the first 327 4 speed SD!!!
