I thought I warned you he'd be doing the mud bog with that Canso Dan...

Pretty close.

The underseat heater (heater core with a little blower fan) was available in Acadian of all things. some people know of it in the B body but you'd sure never guess it in the grocery getter econo car Acadian.

The parts are listed int the book from 65-67.

And just to add a little question to this---

Underseat heater could not be ordered with ______________________???

To add to this and just a little off the main topic, the '67 Laurentian Wagon I just bought has an underseat heater installed in it although it looks after the fact. The switch does look '65-'66 though........... I may try and take a snap.......

Vince, this is what I pulled out of a 67 Grande Parisienne hardtop years ago. I'll bet they never made a new bezel for 67.

Did it have a round know instead of the "stem/lever" design?

No, it had the standard looking lever.

I just read about that tonight in the parts book, 2 different designs of knob on the switch.

As a matter of fact, in 1965 I worked on the Chevrolet engine assembly line in Flint, Michigan and earned $2.96 per hour.  As a single guy, I worked 7 days a week and brought home $156.

At the time I was driving a 1964 VW bug with the optional gas heater.  Without that option the air cooled rear engine VW did not put out any heat to speak of.  If I remember correctly I think that heater was under the passenger seat also.

But I better add, this applies to all applications, A body, B body etc. The other 50% of the answer is something that was not offered in Acadians.

Aww, now that made it too easy.....

I pulled one of these exact same switches out of a mid 60s chevy van.  Probably fairly common in the vans i would think.

Here is another one, I found this at the Portland Swap meet in the early 80"S
It was in a Chevy II/Chevelle box, with instulation instructions (still have them somewhere)
Paid a whole $20 for it. My friend was mad as hell cause he wanted it for his Chevelle, but i found it first.!!
Hard to see the lettering but it is a vacumn Trunk release.

My dad owned a new 1950 American Pontiac Chieftain Six  4 door  and it came with  an underseat heater under the front seat.  It had a heater core  and it gave the back seat passengers some warm air for their feet.
