Looking 4 a Gas tank 4 a 1970 Grand Prix

Hi Looking for a 1970 Grand Prix Gas Tank, car has California emmission system, so a 1971 or 1972 tank with the two extra outlets at the corners of the tank, will do just fine! PS Not the smaller 17 gallon tank 39-1/4 x 24-1/2 x 7-3/4 in.
I am looking for the large 20 gallon tank, 39-1/4 x 30-1/2 x 7-3/4 in.
Thanks Dan

I'm not sure. I haven't found any cross reference material to confirm the tanks are interchangable. But I'm still looking!

Dan I have a CA 1970 Le Mans tank (CA tanks have the seperator inside) that would likely work.I think the main tank dimensions are the same but not sure about the neck and you could reuse your original. PM for more info.

Hi Ian,
Do my dimensions of the tank make resemble/match what you have?
I will check as to the length of the neck to see if it has to be changed.
What is the condition of the tank?
So, now for the ugly part, how much do you want for the tank?
Dan

PS: are you still interested in some 69 GP interior?

Dan I am still interested in the interior can you PM what you have and how much. I have to find the tank or I may have another one in a car still. What quality tank are you looking for? the tanks would be Southern states quality but I need to check for dents and send pics.We can discuss price via PM

If you want I'll try and remember to look tonight?.
Unless someone here has one at hand they can check sooner!.

HI, If you don't buy tank from Ian, there is one on Kijiji in Welland for $100. Not sure if its the tank you need.

First of all Pete, thats a great looking car, on your profile picture!!
Thanks for the heads up on the tank on Kijiji, but from the length of the neck it would be a smaller 17 gallon tank.

Thanks for the lead. I was hoping to buy something second hand, trying to stay on budget.

Hi Ian,
I think it would be easier for you to tell me what you want. I have a black interior from a 69 GP, J model, and a blue interior from a 70 GP, SJ Model.
Drop me a line if you can think of anything you mite need.
Keep me up to date on the tank, I am getting alot of offers on other tanks, so I will wait to hear from you.

Dan I measured the A-body tank I had against the tank in my 69 GP and the A-body is about 6 inches shorter. Sorry I could not help but give me a call and I have one other guy you can try.

Hey Dan the man.... Pete here down at Kims for an evening and looking at your dilemma.  I am sorry to say that the best your going to do is try and get her repaired and then use that tank sealer on the inside like they use when they make fuel cells..
No replacement that I can see for that ole tank yet....

Hi Kim,
Yah, I think that the way I'm going to have to go!
There is a alot of retro fits out there but I think they will be more work then getting the tank re-conditioned. Hope Pete's behaving himself, you know how he gets in the big city?
Take care
Dan
