1969 Chevrolet beaumont Coupe

This looks very familiar.........one of Barrys cars? Somebody buy it so I dont feel so obliged to buy it myself. I cant really comment on cost for condition, but the proximity makes it very appealing! (Its even green!) Wifey wasnt so happy with me yesterday when I bought new bumpers/headers/kneeknocker/mirror/rocker moulding/woodgrain dash/sill plates/glove box/dash knobs/air cleaner and a few other things,(Merry xmas to me) and she really thinks the firetruck is blocking her xmas decorated house, so I'd have to work some magic to make this one happen.

Yeah, that's the 69 I just sold acouple of months ago. The buyer seemed enthusiastic, picked up some buckets for it and some other stuff, I don't know what changed his mind.
Looks like he's tring to make a few bucks off of it- I sold it to him for half his asking price.

hmmm....thanks for the info. Looks to have serious potential to me.  I cant blame him for trying....it peaked my interest. Geez, I'd like to fix that! Is the frame decent? Thanks again for the info....it makes it easier to ignore the listing(for now)hmm

hilarious!.....spilled my coffee on myself when I saw that one. I think the only way she'd be happy with a firetruck in the driveway is if the house was on fire! I am waiting for the ground to freeze properly before I attempt to park it for the winter. The registration says it is 8000kg and I'd hate to sink it into the grass! We have company coming for the holidays and I hope to move it by then. (+9 tomorrow..wtf!?)

Hopefully we don't have a mid-winter thaw this year or you might have to buy a tractor to pull it out in the spring! biggrin

All in all it does look like a doable project, from the pics.

Hmmm... fire truck for Beaumont... T2S, you might want to have something in the garage to tear apart this winter, and that would solve your angry wife/fire truck parking dilemma.... wink

Dont mistake my wifes problem with the firetruck for my desire to get rid of it! Its a keeper, 6800 miles and its on the road. I intent to make a similar truck to the one below. I believe I already have the same from behind the cab to tail. The rear was made by Seagrave.

I DO need something in the garage to tear apart.......I just need a bigger garage!

Wow indeed.  It still amazes me how inexpensive these old trucks are.  I guess the market for them is miniscule. As for the 409, most know more than me, but it would probably sell for more if you got rid of the 20000lbs of steel holding it up. I wish I hadnt seen it. We are way off topic, so if we put the 409 in Barrys old 69 we're golden!

Does anyone know if the air cleaner in the pic above (of the green 69) is original to that car? I found one just like it in the trunk of my 68 convertible along with a bunch of 69 parts. I am just trying to figure out what the heck it is for...Thanks, Whitey.
