I know I have the small block starter brace for you Andrew. Not sure about the one for big block but I can look.

Actually I need 2 BB starter brackets. Don't need any small block ones.

Sorry, I was speed reading. I read small bracket as small block bracket.

The parts book shows 3864972 as being the brace for 65-69 Mark IV engines, 3965588 as fitting 70-72 Mark IV. The one pictured above may fit but if you are wanting the exact correct one Andrew it is not likely the one.

First off, let me say, the BB car's I know best are 68-72 Novas.  I have a nice wire gutter from one of these cars.  I noticed a couple years ago that the wire gutter I found in my stash of parts was somehow different from the one I remembered on the 69 Nova SS I restored in 1985 and kept until the 90's.  In the early to mid 80's not near as many parts were being reproduced and I recall grabbing a couple of these gutters from parts cars in order to have a nice one on my car at all times.
I seemed to recall that the one in my 69 which was a sb SS car was mounted with a hex head screw, I think, at each end.
While attending a Nova Convention a couple years ago, I ask a friend who happens to own several BB 3rd gen cars, if the gutter was different on the BB's versus the SB's.  He kind of blew me off like it was a nuisance question but I noticed the wire gutter on his car was mounted differently than I remembered my SB.  My memory fails me now but I think it had a screw at one end and another in the middle.
I will go over to my storage at my shop and see if I still have the wire gutter in question.  In the meantime, can you tell me if yours is mounted in the same area as the Novas and where are the screw holes on yours?
I know, most guys reading this think we are crazy but you asked and I would like to know.  Actually, I don't even know what model car you have.

I need the gutter for my 67 biscayne, It has mounting holes for the hex head screws at each end of the gutter. Some nova's had a switch mounted at the gutter, can't remember what the switch was for??? I would post a pic right now but I can't seem to upload pics right now.

Big block starter bracket, GM part # 03965588, readily available from GM - I've bought a few, they're like $12.    Same part # as the listing 427carl posted above.

Best place for the firewall gutter is ebay, they pop up from time to time, sometimes with the holes to mount the TCS solenoid, sometimes no holes.

Is that bracket identical to the earlier number I posted, or do you know?

I have not been able to prove a changeup from one number to the other.

Yes, I checked stock on the 3965588 and it's easy to order.

don't know if there is any difference between the 2 part #'s, but considering it's only about 2" long, and well out of sight, not sure if anyone would notice.   The only thing I can think of is maybe the hole on the earlier blocks is in a different spot, requiring a different bracket, but I find that unlikely.

Thanks for the info of them still being available. You are right no one will ever see it, so I will check these ones out. Thanks.

I don't think anyone has addressed the vacuum advance hose clip.   They are the same as on a small block, but how many lines are they required to hold?   Usually there is only 1 line, but on my 70 454's they hold 2 lines, requiring a double clip.  The single clips are fairly easy to find, and the double clips are reproduced, but it took me a while to find it.

Chances of getting a good gutter out of the wreckers is rare, but always worth a look.

Haven't been to bucks in a long time. But I checked out other wreckers and none were good.
