found some pic of a 4 dr I had a few years back, 6 cyl, 3 on the tree,   I think the previous owner painted it with straight enamel and an airless sprayer LOL !

IT was a very solid car however...I bought it from one pic straight from the front....ooopppps!!

It needed all the little mechanical stuff, like rebuild the carb, set the valves so that they actually close...stuff like that !

I had added the Parisienne lower stainless? can't find pics of the finished product ?

Here are some pics posted by CP member 68SD.   Just thought I'd include them here.

As I understand,.. this is the ultra rare 1964 CS factory 409 which was found in Ontario about 2 years ago.  ??

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

Looks like an Ottawa area wagon. My wife had two 64 4 DRs, the first was a Stratochief, light green with the 6 auto and the second was a black Laurentian 283 auto with red interior. Henry.

Do you remember what the price tag was?  Bought off the lot or did you have to special order?  Got a "story" or two about driving her back in the day? biggrin

I just cleared out my crawl space and found a box with old Auto traders from the late 1970s through the early 1980s. I thought I would share a couple of significant 1964 Canadian Pontiacs that I can now share.

The first is a black Parisienne Custom Sport convertible with a 283 & 3-in-the-tree and a factory console with a filler plate to block off the Powerglide indicator (rare!). It is black with a black convertible top & red bucket seat interior, plus the 1964 Grand Prix signal lights in the grille. It appears that the GP turn signals in the grille replaced the factory turn signals in the bumper, just like the Grand Prix. I wonder if the dealer did that? I have spoken of this car before but I wasnt sure I had any picture of it any more. I saw this car in person in August 1979 and I can tell you it was in excellent shape. I also have a picture of the cover of the Hamilton Auto Trader issue it was featured in that was good until March 24, 1978 (34 years ago kids).

The next 1964 Parisienne Custom Sport convertible is as it appeared in the July 1983 issue of Auto Trader. This car belonged to the daughter of an elderly neighbor of ours and was always kept mint. Originally it was Silver Blue with a black top & interior and was really sharp. I believe it was a 283 Powerglide. The owner, Mrs. Farmer, kept the car mint but used it year round. In March of 1977 I saw a speck of rust appear beneath the wide rocker trim. Soon after the car disappeared. What happened is that she took the car in for an extensive paint job with all the chrome removed. At that time the car was repainted white (I would have stayed with Silver Blue personally). Well Mrs. Farmer died in November 1982 and the car mysteriously vanished, only to reappear in this July 1983 Hamilton Auto Trader. The $4000 restoration that is referred to in the ad was the cost of the extensive paint job done in the spring of 1977 by the original owner. That was a lot to pay for a paint job back then for sure! BTW, Mrs. Farmers husband, Dr. Farmer, passed away in 1971. I remember his car was a Verdoro Green 1969 GTO hardtop with redline tires & Rally II wheels. That car vanished upon his death more than 40 years ago. The house where they lived is now the Fieldcote Museum in Ancaster, Ontario.

I know the owner and he presently wants to remain anonymous.

He has owned it about 15 years and had it stored in Northern Ont up to

about 3-4 years ago and then got it running and has visited numerous cruises

in the Ajax/Oshawa area. The owner is presently in BC and the car is stored in Ajax On.

GM Historical as authenticated its originality, it came from AB or SK.

I will keep you posted on it's status, I'd love to restore this thing.

cheers

bj

Yes, there is a road trip thread about this very car posted by a member (73SC) on this site a couple years ago.  I can't find it!cry

It was originally from Saskatchewan.

Super cool car!
