Pondering .... Pondering .....

2 questions ...

Do you have other rims and rubber to put on it ?

Are you around all weekend ?

Must discuss with the bosses (wife and daughters) first.

Regards,

Scott (LandShark ....)

ALL IN IT WOULD COST ME AROUND $5500-$6000 TO BUY AND GET THIS CAR HOME. I KNOW OF 3 WITHIN A 6 HOUR ROUND TRIP OF MY HOME IN THE $5000-$6000 RANGE. I HAVEN'T BOUGHT THEM. THIS CAR IS A GOOD DEAL FOR A LOCAL, BUT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME TO GO HALF WAY ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO BUY. I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE IS NOT A BUYER IN THAT AREA FOR THIS CAR. THE LOCALS ARE MISSING THE BOAT ON THIS ONE!

no need to worry about the shipping excuses-thats the only reason I probably didn't buy your 64 when it was advertised

I myself have a hard time buying sight unseen

it is NOT mint-but it is a bargain if anyone local is awake-no concern just thought I'd challenge for a fair Japan donation but clearly theres no buyers

Hi,

I'm actually not a big fan of rally's and raised white letter tires on a fullsize convertible. I would probably opt for some standard rims/tires and nice hubcaps.
Just my odd preference.

When I bought my car, I drove to Freeport, Maine. Stayed in a hotel overnight, saw the car, and drove back to PEI.
Then, weeks later I drove back down to the Calais, Maine border crossing, met the guy from Freeport, transfered the car to our rig, and drove back to PEI.
All to repatriate a Canadian Poncho (and not a rare one, at that). biggrin

I wanted to get Fred's aqua '64 Parisienne moredoor, but even though he only wanted $1500.00, my estimated time and money spent, were a reality check. I would have just taken it apart and used it as a parts car anyway. It would have cost me thousands (including the asking price,) to get it to PEI in the end. cry I wish it was closer!

that woulda been a shame. Way too good for aparts car. I had bought it to get the dealer decal for Todd I shouldn t have sold it but I was digging my driveway that week and needed the room

Yes the Canadian market has always been tough unless you get lucky. I sold this 66 last year for 2300 after trying to sell it FOREVER. One guy finally stepped up and payed the pittance. Anybody know of  a 67 4dr hardtop running for a reasonable price?

you re right Canadians have always been conservative. Americans will buy,drive/enjoy and sell in the same period of time it takes a Canadian to simply buy

Ken;  can you tell me more about its history?  In the photos it looks really straight and body panels look good...    Was it a southern car?   are floors good?   top goes up and down?...  engine "looks" good ...    if someone bought it for 4000  would they have to pay tax on 10-20grand?    you can e mail if you want  Carl

the car was sold new here in Niagara (I have a new original dealer decal). There were no southern parisiennes this is a Canadian pontiac. The body panels are ok not super straight just good driver quality done probably in the 1980s it had 1/2 quarter panels done at that time. The trunk pan has been replaced with a southern one. It comes with new weatherstripping along with new brake shoes new brake drums and brake spring kits. The carpet is new. The seats appear original with no rips but the rear one is hard. The top goes up and down. The chrome is driver with some fading and some screws. The tires are new the rims a chev rallys with GTO rally I caps. It starts and runs fine will need to be timed as the previou owner instaLled an HEI and did n t set it up. Its not a 10-20 gs s0 the tax will not be way up there. I can apprise it for what you pay as that is the true test of value by actually selling it. Minimal project. Make a nice low buck driver with room for profit

Thank you Ken...   thats a nice description of it... Not a bondo buggy, just a nice solid old car  It really looks straight in pictures...
When you are "up" here on Lake Huron, that would be a "southern car "  lol

I was thinking that would be a nice car, for me to detail, and cruise around in, or bless another car guy buy selling them a good car...
--------------------------------------

but as usual another Family phone call, and we are off, trying to put out another fire..

Looks Like I have to travel to New brunswick a couple of times to move my Mother..

When I was in my late Thirties, I couldn't wait for the girls to leave, so we
(Barb and I) could have a "life together"
Then the oldest "came home" and I was a husband, and father to her, and the children (for 16 years)(Forties gone),
Then came the Fifties, and I dreamn't of retirement and time for ourselves, then we took on two handicapped boys to fill the nest, and then the oldest daughter re-married and I retired and thought we were all set!!
and now the Sixties, and my 80 year old mother wants to live with us forever   I think I'm going to run away...
