'06 CTS-my latest edition to the fleet.

Well here it is gang, my 2006 CTS w/3.6 litre V-6. The more I drive this car-the more I like it. There's a bunch of adjusting to do since The Vibe was my #1 grocery grabber since 2003.

Makes sense that this CTS is not as handy as the Vibe, nor does it handle slippery road situations (yes, I was warned) like a front wheel drive car. But it's interior, sound system, handling, and even it's size has made this a great choice as our new grocery grabber.

The original owner had told me it had the 2.4 liter V6, but after finding the window sticker it's been a pleasant suprise that it's equipped with the larger, more powerful 3.6L. This engine is also featured in the likes of the GMC Acadia and the Pontiac G-8 V-6 edition.

Alloy wheels, leather heated seats, 4 wheel disc brakes, and a "personalization monitoring panel" make this a far cry from the Vibe's only toy......the 100 watt dash mounted inverter. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to really miss the Vibe. It will remain the most reliable car I've ever owned.

So as we settle in, being in my 50's doesn't seem so bad when you have a cool ride like this.

Very sorry for taking so long in getting a picture out. Today we actually had a sunny moment to stop and take a quick shot or two.

Nice find! I spent a lot of time in the CTS when I worked at a Cadillac dealer. I really liked them.

Congrats on the engine upgrade! (Unless they made improvements to the traction control since the '03 model, the first thing you should do is program one of the steering wheel buttons to turn it on and off. Mine is always turned off.)

Noticed the traction control utilized about 6 times today. If I use the throttle like "there was an egg under it", seems to not be needed. I've got about 110 pounds of weight in the truck (nicely sealed) and I'm shopping for grips. It's really late in the season for odd sized tires, so I'll be a "Calgarian" and wait for a chinookevileye. LOL.

Re:Avitar. The Vibe Avitar will stay for a bit.........till it's SOLD. Asking $5500 you know. Open to the best offer closest to that. Any takers?

The CTS-V would be a really nice car to own. It's a collectable for sure. Although there are some maintenence issues on the 2003-2007 series of CTS, the CTS-V seems to have the least amount.

My money is on this 3.6 liter version tho.....as my insurance guy likes it, not too much power for The Girlfriend to drive should it happen, and the thing seems to sip fuel. Good enough for an everyday driver for mebiggrin.
