Is this an Acadian or a Nova?

Just wondering if this an Acadian or a Nova. Just by looking at the pics can you tell? The steering wheel has SS on it, also isn't that a SS hood. Did these parts come on Acadians also.? I know nothing about these cars. Thanks, Kevin

Ad says it a Pontiac Acadian   owner must think its a Acadian?

Nova were made by "GM for Chevrolet"    Acadians were made by "GM to be sold by" Pontiac dealers  (Big Difference)

Rear Panel is correct for 70 Acadian. Could be an Acadian SS. GM docs anyone?

If your going to look at it , look for a vin number. If it starts with a 7 its a Acadian a 1 its a Nova.

I'm not going to look at it. I was just wondering if it really was an Acadian from looking at the ad. I do like it though. Could a 70 Acadian come as an SS?

Yes, 68,69,70,71 Acadian SS. Always an L-48 295/300 HP 350, never offered a 396.

I just added a photo Glenn's 1969 and a few more...

Hard to tell the rear panel isnt a Novas, rear panel it looks more like an Acadians .It looks like its been sitting for a while, the motor needs a bath.

The rear panel looks like an Acadian. The steering wheel looks like a newer version than 70. Has power brakes, hood louvers, can't see the front spear but looks like the front end has been repainted. Might be Nova fenders. Missing a lot of the Acadian emblems. (Fenders, and hood). Seems to be a little pricey for the condition.

The only two things that are 70 Acadian are, the Ad info and the rear panel. Yes they did have SS options but this one doesn't look correct. As 427Carl said, definitely not worth the money and in extreme need of some lovin'.

RE:

Does the SS option decode on the cowl tag like a chevelle and how would you know if it was a manual trans car?

Is this an Acadian or a Nova?

nope ,because its built in MICHIGAN  like the nova theres very little info on the tag

model ,colour and interior colour, even the style #s on the tags are the same 71427
so you cant tell if its a 6 or 8 cyl by the tag
the vin will show the 71327 or 71427 diferences (6cyl /v8 )

it would show buckets as to bench seat though
no trans codes as i have seen so far

im still not 100% sure on this but the real SS350 cars ive seen have a A or a A 2
at the bottom of the tag ,i believe it has to do with the bucket seats

Mine is a real SS and does not have the A or A2.  But it is a bench seat, 4sp car.  Must be buckets.
