What does BC use for paperwork?

Seems to me Alberta is just a bill of sale, isn't it? BC is different though?

in bc it is a long drawn out process.write to icbc, wait for their paper work, fill out, send out registered letter to last know address of p.o. wait for it to come back to you(must be unopened)then mail all that back to icbc, and wait for their responce.a notary might have to come into play somewhere their too. was 15 or so yrs ago I had to do it.it can be done no prob, dont be in a hurry though,6mo or so I think it took back then............................................

I received an express post letter in the mail last fall (2010) from a fellow that was buying a
54 Merc Woody Wagon that he had found in a back yard in Langley BC. It was a car that
I had sold in about 1986 or so in Powell River and had never been transfered out of my name.
The fellow said that he figured it had been through 4 more owners since I sold it and no one
had ever registered it, lol. The guy sent the express post letter to my old address that
I hadn't lived at in about 20 years, but because the letter carrier knew me, they tracked
me down and gave it to me. I wasn't sure if it was for real or a hoax, so I waited for the
guy to phone me.....and he did. He described the vehicle correctly, so I signed the papers
and mailed them back to him. Haven't heard from him since. I was surprised by how much
information on me he was able to get from ICBC (BC's Insurance Co.). I will get in touch
with him one of these days and find out how it all went down and how he made out......
....I wonder how many more of my cars are still out there, lol....
